Will BACKUP HDD transfer the locked saved game files?

Going to get the slim and transfer the save files, some of them are locked and I don't know if BACKUP HDD will transfer them. Im going to use my 4gb flash drive and delete the game installations so the system just backs up the save files. will the locked ones transfer?

Your trophies should sync because they are attached to your PSN account no matter what so it should work.

They DO transfer. I just switched hard drives and all the locked ones moved just fine. Backing up an HDD is the only way to transfer locked save files.

I'm pretty sure you can find a way to restore onto a new PS3. Isn't it an option somewhere?

Killzone 2, Rock Band 2 (definitely locked) and every one of my saved game files transferred to my new HDD.

EDIT: Sorry yeah it turns out it only works on the same PS3.
