i hope bethesda has learnt from fallout vegas that proper testing should be done before releasing game. I am having high hopes for elder scrolls 5 as they say as a new engine is being deployed for the same.

but boy 2011 crazy year for gamers lol:

uncharted 3, last guardian, elder scrolls 5,mass effect 3, infamous 2, dead space 2, mgs rising( doubt it will release in 2011) it is going to be crazy

Hahaha. Thats a million dollar question, my friend. As soon as I heard about the new engine I was excited, because obviously the old one just isn't workable. Out of the three games I played with that engine Oblivion was actually the smoothest yet it still had more bugs that a Mississipi porchlight. I'm sure hoping they got it all figured out, though.

Bethesda did not develop F:New Vegas, however they did make Obsidian rush out the game, so I blame them for all the bugs. When it comes to Bethesda developing their own games, Im sure they do a much better job. I doubt their will be many bugs in the next Elder Scrolls, but if their are im sure Bethy will jump on them quickly after release, like they did with Fallout 3.

Not a chance, a game of that size is bound to have some issues somewhere.

They didn't develope the game but they did develope the engine that was used. Even Oblivion and Fallout 3 was riddled with countless bugs and glitches. Heck, the Fallout 3 GOTY edition even still has a few constants even though it was substantially improved upon. I'd say Obsidian did the best they could with what they had. But then again... Who's to blame for Alpha Protocol? :P

A game with an open world that size is guaranteed to have bugs/glitches, but hopefully just nowhere near as much as was in Fallout: New Vegas which truthfully was an unfinished game. I don't mind glitches if they're minor, my main concern is the framerate. If the framerate isn't smooth it will ruin the experience and cause freezing issues like in Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas.

ya open world of huge size should have bugs. true! but honestly i never had much problems with oblivion as i did with fallout anyway remains to be seen. I would recommend Bethesda to launch a demo or trial of the game and then based on feedback release it with everything sorted out.

Don't be silly, they will have 10 consoles running the game and call that testing, a linear run at the quests, no experimenting and no bending of the storyline, no skipping all quests and just exploring, they will test the game as linear as humanly possible and call it adequate.

If it's going to be a massive world like in Oblivion or Fallout 3, then no.

There are going to be a LOT of bugs.

I've come to expect bugs with my games, and I truly hope they can keep it minimal. I don't expect perfection cause millions of people doing random things are bound to come across more bugs then a few hundred testers.

i hope bethesda has learnt from fallout vegas jaidev004

Oh, you can bet they learned from it. It sold 5 million copies in half-finished form. As long as people are going to keep sending them the message that it's A-OK to do that, they will most certainly continue.

I don't mean to be a jerk but learnt is not a word.Learned is the word you're looking for. As for your topic, I would think that they've learned* their lesson.

"Bethesda" is an ancient word... in Sanscrit and also Sumerian, actually means "bug filled code"... I don't know if you knew that or not...

There is no way in Hell that game is going to come out anywhere NEAR correct. It's the nature of the beast. "Morrowind" was my first and last excursion into their games. The game glitched on me before I got out of the registration process after exiting the ship... I should have quit right there...

... buuuuut I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I had some fun, but that company is never getting another dime from me. I'm not hateful or anything, I'm just also not a masochist...

Has there ever been a game released without bugs? No, don't count on it, the chance of a bug-free game being released (especially by bethesda) hovers damn near slim to none.
