wahhhhh
im confused
wuts this topic about
Confondu
Bungie, of Halo fame, used to only make Microsoft exclusives but now they've split. So Bungie can develop for other platforms
I hope they do make some PS3 games, whatever anyone says, Halo games are very enjoyable, if not anything spectacular.

Bungie(the dudes that made halo) are now independent from M$. They are now free to make games they want and for whatever consoles they want. The question is do you think they will bring a game to the PS3?
not until it has a larger install base. AsadMahdi59
Well the install base will come. And even probably surpass the currant leader. The install base thing everyone likes to question, will only be in question for the one whos leading now, come 2010 or latter. So its not a question of that. I hear that a lot, but that wont be in question, and publishers should know that. So money will follow the PS3 for sure world wide. Of course the Wii has packed them in, but it can only do so much for the years ahead in the main game area. And they left Microsoft to not makes games just for them. Thats pretty simple to understand. But will we see PS3 games???
I've never heared of Bungie. Have they made any goodinnovativegames?
JustWiicredible
I hope you are not serious and if you are, should I list the innovative ideas in Halo?
No. They stated that they are still exclusive to Xbox360 in their interview. They are sort of like Insomniac with Sony, but with Microsoft, but they aren't fully second party.X_CAPCOM_X
Which interview is this?
I doubt it. Think of them like Naughty Dog or Insomniac. They're independent, but they develop exclusively for one platform.babystapler
Than why would they do what they did? Why did they just not stay with the "im sure vary big" contract they had.

if you're not joking then WOW. thats all i have to say.

Oh i see now they made that generic sci fi shooter trilogy thingy. Meh. I'll be playing The orange box for my FPS fix thank you.

"FO: Legally, our only commitment is to our publisher Microsoft Game Studios. But we can of course work on other projects on other platforms. The reality is that we like the 360, it's a very comfortable environment for us to work. Realistically, for the types of games that we make, it is the most successful platform for us to work on, given the types of titles that we work on. So it makes prudent fiscal sense for us to continue working on it. And certainly all of our near- and mid-term projects are all Xbox 360. So in that regard, not only has very little changed but we're happy to grow that platform and make it a more logical place for us to stay."[QUOTE="babystapler"]I doubt it. because now that they are independent they get more of the profit. Bungie just basically wants what EPIC has, the ability tomake great exclusives without M$'s hand in their pocket

I just love quotes like these... lolz... has denial written all over...
I personally don't play Halo but I give props to Bungie and the franchise.
They basically helped boost the popularity of online gaming on consoles that we enjoy now...
"We will continue to develop with our primary focus on Microsoft's platforms; we greatly value our mutually prosperous relationship with our publisher, Microsoft Game Studios, and we look forward to continuing that affiliation through 'Halo' and beyond."
this statement makes me believe 2 things. They will make more halo games and new IPs as well, which is obvious.
but the bolded tells me that, because of the word primary, that we will see multiplatform titles on either PS3 or Wii, maybe both. If they were gonna stay exclusive to the 360 then they would have said so. Their use of primary suggests that there are secondaries as well.
whether we will see games on PS3 or Wii in the next 5 or so years is debatable. we might have to wait awhile.
Were do you think their secondary focus will be ???
And why are we so happy that their focus will be on the 360?

There will be no secondary focus, MS publishes their games. They are just now able to excersise their ability to develop new IP's. Expect very few (if any) sequels from Bungie for a long time. The only certain thing is that whatever they make will be on the Xbox 360.

NO they stated and Halo games will be out only for 360,
however they can make games for PS3.

OK let me list you the innovative ideas in Halo and also games that it inspired. Shall we start then?
What did it innovate? TWO-WEAPON CARRYING CAPACITY
Inspired: Lost Planet
What did it innovate? VEHICLE-CENTRIC COMBAT
Inspired: Battlefield 1942
What did it innovate? RECHARGING HEALTH METER
Inspired: Call of Duty 2
Shall I list more or state each innovation in more detail?
I hope ur joking

No dont lol Than will have to see this weird list of something were not talking about. And how it changed the world. lol. Sad part is I bought both of those first two " so called" world changers. And traded them in like weeks latter. I even had the SE silver case for 2. Even bought it at the midnight special party. You can put the bible under my hand on that one. Ive been threw those, and thought they were good at best.
And as far as Bungie. Their still as much as a Microsoft developer, as Capcon or anyone is.

if you traded in the first halo so fast why did you buy the second halo SE at a midnight launch.

PLEASE!
this is the second post where i see you have no idea what you are talking about
this 2 weapon carrying capacity was achieved by Golden Eye for N64
yes Golden Eye that's the game I was trying to remember. And I think the whole life regeneration thing was also done before halo I just cant remember the game.

Actually it was achieved before that in the Marathon series that Bungie made for Macs. Halo is a great game but mostly because it delivered such a sound and complete package for the first time on a console. Goldeneye was close but it stayed in the realm of games and did not broaden beyond that. I don't know how Halo managed to transcend the "videogame" label, but it did.

Because its an anomaly just like World of Warcraft. Nothing more then a mediocre experience but for some reason people just eat that stuff up.
i dont really want them coming out with a FPS for the PS3, i think there are enuf FPS's out there. maybe they should try to develop something like Warhawk, 3rd person, awesome online but in a sense using Halo online style of gameplay, i guess only time will tell.hashimgillani1
bungie has never made a game that wasnt FPS. Why would they change now?
I doubt that Bungie will develop for the PS3, they said they are "keeping close ties with Microsoft." So I'm not sure.. what if Microsoft is blackmailing Bungie?!?!:oDurkoki
As said before
Bungie said any Halo series will still be on Xbox, however they will make other games for the other consoles.
I cant see any other reason why they would split, than to make something for others.
I mean its kinda plain text, if they would of stayed solely with Microsoft. That would be to make games for only them. They did not do that.
truenextgen
Point made.. what other reason would there be to separate from "THE" Microsoft corporation.. Halo3 on the Wii haha
