I am scared to jump in due to hearing it doesnt have as varied acting (as in there are a lot of repeat voices for people) and how well its aged.

Oblivion is stupid. Fallout 3 is better. But then again, I'm not a big fan of RPGs

I don't like Oblivion at all it put me off buying fallout3 for a year, I finally caved and got fallout3 I'm loving it, perhaps I will give Oblivion another chance after I'm done.

Buy Oblivion....Alot more Varied than people think....plus the GOTY version with shiveriongisles and Knightof the nine.....ensure yoiu are basically getting three games in one....with each Main Quest just as good if not better than the others. Not to mention the relentless amount of side quests. Everyone who is saying they don't ;like Oblivion and not giving a good enough reason...your opinion hods no weight. It's equivalent to someone who hasn't played the game!!. I haven't played Fallout 3, but i imagine it could have the same amount of story longevity, regarding quests.

Oblivion is one of those games you either love or hate. I'd rent it first just to see if you are gonna enjoy it. I wish I would of done that instead of buying the collectors edition and guide when it came out on 360 lol!!

I loved Fallout 3 and sort of liked Oblivion. I loved it at first, but when the limitations in it's role playing and levelling system became apparent I stopped liking it as much. Treat it like an open-world action/adventure and you should be fine with it, it's just not very good as an RPG.

don't dismiss oblivion just because of the voices. I played Fallout 3 first and I was also worried about playing oblivion after, but eventually I played it and it really isn't that bad. The voice acting is limited but it really doesn't ruin the game (for me atleast, I just find it hilarious at times which adds to the fun :P). The game still looks great even compared to some games released this year. It feels like there is so much more to do than in Fallout especially with the GOTY edition. It's a lot of fun and just as addictive.

I suggest you give it a go, and if you don't like it - you don't like it.

I actually think it works the opposite direction. If you like Oblivion, you'll most likely enjoy Fallout 3. But Fallout 3 appeals to a wider audience with the setting, weaponry, leveling, and length. There's no guaranteeing you'll enjoy Oblivion just because you like Fallout 3.

If you're the kind of person that likes to get the best weapons/armor/reward possible you may not like the game as much. This is primarily because the world levels with you, including rewards. EX: if yougeta sword for a reward, that sword will be better if you recieve it at level 20 than if you recieve it at level 5.

This system really turned me away from the game, but was worth a purchase in my opinion. Also, if you do want the best version of everything, I think you need to start doing reward quests at like level 20 or 25. I can't remember exactly. I always did the main quest until the first oblivion gate and then did the arena.

I like fun games, mainly first person shooters but if it's a good game, I'll buy it. If it's a massive hit, whatever genre, whatever platform, I'll buy it. Oblivion was a complete waste of money and time on both my part and Bethesdas. I loathhhed it. I know some people loved it, but honestly, I sold it straight away. Fallout 3 on the other hand is awesome, and in fact, Im replaying it today.

I love both. I know people who like both, one or the other, or disliked them equally so I have no way of knowing whether you will enjoy it. I suggest to rent it, buy a used cheap copy or borrow it from someone if you are unsure. The travel system and how you communicate with NPCs are basically the same but Oblivion's level up system is not your standard style for RPGs like Fallout 3. However, if you like the medieval setting then I would definitely suggest to check this game out.

I love both but i like Oblivion better let me tell you why. Oblivion has alot more content ive played Oblivion for more than 400 hours ( about 280 hours on PS3 and 120 hours on 360 ) and ive yet to explore everthing. Fallout 3 on the other hand only lasted me about 95 hours ( completed all quests at 58 hours the rest was just exploring literally everything in the game) i was greatly dissapointed with the lack of content in Fallout 3 but still it was a awesome 95 hours of gaming. Fallout 3 also has a stupid level cap at 20 that was a really bad idea. Like i say i love both games there both unique in there own way. Oblivion has a steeper learning curve

I'm not sure. It was kind of reversed for me. I had Oblivion first.

Sure, most of the voice acting is done by one guy. But if you can get past that, you'd might.

You'd might want to research Oblivion. Watch some gameplay videos or something.

no. because now you're going to be consciously comparing the two. i made the mistake comparing KZ2 and COD4 and ended up not liking KZ2.

It depends on how you'll be comparing the two... They are very similar, but Fallout usually appeals to people more because of the guns and gore.

I haven't played Oblivion, and I won't, because after playing Fallout 3, I don't think it will match it
