I am scared to jump in due to hearing it doesnt have as varied acting (as in there are a lot of repeat voices for people) and how well its aged.

I don't like Oblivion at all it put me off buying fallout3 for a year, I finally caved and got fallout3 I'm loving it, perhaps I will give Oblivion another chance after I'm done.

Your making me want to get fallout 3 also, because i hated oblivion aswell
don't dismiss oblivion just because of the voices. I played Fallout 3 first and I was also worried about playing oblivion after, but eventually I played it and it really isn't that bad. The voice acting is limited but it really doesn't ruin the game (for me atleast, I just find it hilarious at times which adds to the fun :P). The game still looks great even compared to some games released this year. It feels like there is so much more to do than in Fallout especially with the GOTY edition. It's a lot of fun and just as addictive.
I suggest you give it a go, and if you don't like it - you don't like it.
If you're the kind of person that likes to get the best weapons/armor/reward possible you may not like the game as much. This is primarily because the world levels with you, including rewards. EX: if yougeta sword for a reward, that sword will be better if you recieve it at level 20 than if you recieve it at level 5.
This system really turned me away from the game, but was worth a purchase in my opinion. Also, if you do want the best version of everything, I think you need to start doing reward quests at like level 20 or 25. I can't remember exactly. I always did the main quest until the first oblivion gate and then did the arena.
hated both :\
and i beat oblivion, story at least, (finaly im done with that) started fallout 3 and im like what the F its the same sh*t but with guns -.-
I love both. I know people who like both, one or the other, or disliked them equally so I have no way of knowing whether you will enjoy it. I suggest to rent it, buy a used cheap copy or borrow it from someone if you are unsure. The travel system and how you communicate with NPCs are basically the same but Oblivion's level up system is not your standard style for RPGs like Fallout 3. However, if you like the medieval setting then I would definitely suggest to check this game out.
i have fallout 3 survial edition....my favorite game of all time....decided to buy oblivion last night game of the year edition
it was 20 bucks!!!! i am not dissapointed at all its amazing just like fallout..its basically fallout just midevil time period..get it
Loved oblivion, never got into Fallout 3 as much but i am buying the GOTY edition of Fallout 3. TheoblivionGOTY edition has lots of content, great game and u cant go wrong with this game. I personally love the setting of more earliertimes and guilds like the Dark Brotherhood, so awesome.
no. because now you're going to be consciously comparing the two. i made the mistake comparing KZ2 and COD4 and ended up not liking KZ2.
IMO oblivion was good for it's time. after fallout 3 came out, it wasn't good anymore. but that's just my opinion.I am scared to jump in due to hearing it doesnt have as varied acting (as in there are a lot of repeat voices for people) and how well its aged.
