Will it be a pain to play Skyrim while using only archery to fight?

I'm a Skyrim beginner, and I love using archery. I'm thinking I want to use only archery for the whole game. I'm not sure how it'll turn out later on in the game since I'm still not far at all, barely even started the main quest. Will the game become very difficult later on if I just use archery? I'm afraid that later on in the game I'll get to an enemy that I have to kill with some other skill, and my other combat skills are at like level 20.
I don't even know what half of the skills are, there are so many skills and I'm not sure how to make the most of them. I'm hoping there will be quests that guide me through each skill. Thanks for your help!

It's totally do-able, you will need a melee weapon though, a sword or something simlar. You'll get mobs of people sometimes and you'd get thrashed if you only used bows.

I'm doing it no problem but you do need at least a sword for close combat, but my strategy is stealth because that's going to be an advantage in the long run.

Okay, would you recommend that I use a two handed weapon or a single-handed weapon with a shield?

if you are a sneaking type of character and have your sneaking high enough to where you can get close enough to kill them with the bow before they even suspect anything yes but if you don't have your sneak skill high enough for that then its best to carry around a sword too because you get mobbed by enemys at least half the time. my character is a nord and is a master in sneak, archery, one handed, light armer, destruction, and restoration. my character always wears the dark brotherhood armor and uses a daedric bow and daedric one handed sword

As others have said, as long as you raise your sneak, you should be able to make it through a lot of the game. As a backup I would choose one-handed sword/shield instead of a two-handed weapons, but that really comes down to personal choice.

I'm a warrior but I start fights or battles with archery, is really good to DPS. But archery alone the game will get tough!

This is what I use as my "favorite items" for quicker transition as an archer: - Bow of your choice (with enchanment optional) - Dagger of your choice (Enchantment optional) - Sword of your choice (Enchantment optional) - Shield of your choice (Enchantment optional) - Health potions (I find stamina potions to be useless) (I do not use Magic, so magicka potions are useless for me) - Depending on the type of weapon,t hey may not be listed in that order, since they list alphabetically ... my favorite is a set of Daedric weapons, but you need 90 smithing ... so int he beginning, I used Dwarven weapons/arrows when I could find them ... lightweight with a lot of damage

That's what I did, archery, stealth damage bonuses, and invisibility potions make any encounter pathetically easy.

I'd recommend the Ebony Blade. It's a reward of a daedric quest. It's an OP weapon.

Why lug around another weapon, thats going to take up valuable weight in your inventory? If you pick a Khajit, they get (Claws) which adds 15damage to unarmed melee. My thief character is a lvl 41 Khajit, & ive never wielded a sword/axe/mace, once since I began, why use a weapon, when you have Death on the end of your left arm & Destruction on the end of your right. & by Death & Destruction I mean Good Ol' "Lefty & Righty".

My main combo is a one-handed sword and magic attack (spark), but I do from time to time use the bow.

I have a spellsword Dark Elf. I personally think only archery will become boring. Also, you'll have trouble as my level 42 character with 100 stealth is still seen once the first spell hits an enemy...

Played through entire game with Archery, no Melee weapons needed unless you fancy a change. Perfectly capable of completing everything with a bow.

You can use archery all the time with ease imo because you can bash with your bow if the enemies gets too close and personal with you.

Since the new patch, has the game become better suitable for quests and less frame rate issues?

Yup, you can swing it. But you're gonna need a melee weapon. Some of the dungeons are CQB based, so not a ton of room for arrows.

I do a lot of archery. Here is a common plan. Have a friend along and tell them to stand still behind you. Sneak forward and start sniping with a poisoned bow. If a group charges you fall back behind your friend and shoot in support of them. If you have to go to a hand weapon use one that causes people to flee.

As fast as possible get the skill that lets you pull the left button to "zoom in" on a target.

Last thing, sneak as much as you can, I sneak close to 100 percent of the time in caves. That will max up your sneak and give you hit bonuses.

Yeah good call on that. You can run an Archer build solo, but you're going to be at your best with a "tanking" friend.

I got the platinum and only used archery. Very doable.
