What you guys think before the E3, will KillZone play at 60FPS?
I belive Guerilla said that they going to be have lot of physics and destructible environment, is it possible to do 60FPS and run the game in full 1080p in this kind of gameplay?

Isn't 1080p mean that it runs at 60 fps and 1080i 30?

lairs running at 1080p and 60 FPS with 7.1 surrond sound and progressive mesh. so yeah a game with a 40MIL budget and pretty much made by sony who knows all about the Cell. i think they could run it at 1240p at 120FPS.LOL!!coolasj19

I don't know what you're talking about. 1080p just means its progressive. The resolution is independent of the frame rate.

on the downside to ruun it at the above settings u need this sony TV
and its only 10,000$. seirioulsly thatd be a waste the human eye cant refresh THAT fast.

Of course it will. It's Sony's own development team with access to tons of expertise that knows the cell inside out.
If they can't do it with access to all that know-how, then it's quite obvious that 3rd party developers never ever will.

Dude what is wrong with you?? Resistance was a launch title that probably didnt have 2 years in the making and defi. not a budget of $20 mill. So yaa anything is possible with Killzone - and watch out for Resistance 2.
Killzone isn't going to be all that. I know this, because the 1upyours podcast guys have seen the game running, and although they can't talk about it, they were debating what could wow crowds at E3, and none of them mentioned Killzone 2.If it had been amazing, they would have said that fans were going to be blown away when theysaw it in action.All they would say is that it's VERY different from Killzone 1. But it's not going to be the 2nd coming or anything. FPS is nothing compared to framerate. My old comp ran CSS at everything low quality no HDR at 30 FPS, and my new comp can run it at everything HIGH quality, HDR Full, full AA and full Anistropic at 130 FPS, they both looked smooth. The older comp would drop to the occasional 24 which would look a little stuttery, while the new one ranges between 30-370ish, there could be 1000fps, but it wouldnt be used...what I mean is 30 fps is the peak for our eyes, and if they can get it so that it doesnt range, and it's a steady 30+Fps, there is no problem here.
Technically yes its possible. Ninja Gaiden runs at 60 FPS at 1080p. But lets wait so till E3 to find out ;)JumpingMirrior

Plus Resistance still looks astonishing beautiful at 30FPS with all the physics going on all at once like in that Manchester level... without any framerate loss, plus the online still looks like it is an offline game. Don't get me wrong but I hope Sony and Guerilla push the hardware for KillZone, the game will be in 1080p since they want to promote their HD and Bluray, and I'm not sure the game will run in 30FPS or 60FPS.

FPS = frames per second
frames per second = framerate
if you don't believe me, what is the FRAMERATE of Resistance? 30 FPS(frames per second)
I really don't see how you can say, "FPS is nothing compared to framerate.". they are exactly the same. its just two different terms for the same thing.
oh, and 24fps is the "peak" for our eyes.
