So I know Assassin's Creed: Liberation is an entirely seperate story line from AC3, but does anybody know if they announced if it will ruin any of AC3's plot? I'm having surgery next week and will be stuck in the hospital, so I can bring my vita and wanted to play liberation while I recover, but I don't want it to ruin AC3 as I plan on playing that too once I get out. I wasn't sure if anybody heard anything about that yet.

I would assume not,the two are taking place in different parts of the country. I did hear about one part where Aveline and Connor do a mission together, but I doubt they would post any sort of spoilers in the game, and if they did, it wouldnt be that big.

Edit: found the link

Well it's releasing only tomorrow, so no one can say for certain, but I don't think either game will spoil the other's story. From what we've heard, at some point in the stories, Aveline will meet Connor and interact with him somehow. Unless you absolutely want to experience that (probably minor) story element in ACIII, you've got nothing to worry about. Also, owning both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game will allow you play a mission as Connor in ACIII: Liberation, and as Aveline in the PS3 version of ACIII. Good luck with your surgery, hope you recover quickly!

I wouldn't be too concerned TC. It would be ideal if people bought both games, so Ubisoft wouldn't do much to spoil them by only playing one. As previous posters have stated, the two main characters stories will intertwine for a mission or so. I'm betting that was done to not only intertwine the stories a bit, but to peak the interest of consumers to buy both versions. I'm going to play the Vita version first myself, as my PS3 has broke (again), and I am refusing to buy a new one anytime soon.

spin offs should never affect the mainline games.

I don't think so. I bought Liberation today and I am playing it right now. I'm picking up AC3 when the PC version is released. So by then, I should be done with Liberation.

even so, with spin offs.. i tend to treat them differently..I only count the mainline games for story. But thats just me.

No they are different storylines. Set in the same timeframe. Kinda like Star trek The Next Generation and Star Trek Deep Space nine. Different storylines in the Same universe. Take place at the same time, but not spoiling the story of the other. A "side-quel"
