It depends on what you are expecting. Since you're not a fan of MGS, is hard to say whether you will like the 4th one in the series. Try to play all the mgs games as well.
Not to be a jerk, because you probably already know, but your English is yucky.
Anyway, whoever suggested that you try one of the earlier titles had the right idea, that will give you an idea of what to expect. Do not count on a totally serious military style shooter like Splinter Cell, or a ton of action like Halo. There are a lot of fantastical, supernatural narrative threads, and not always a lot of action. A lot of MGS has a slower, deliberate pace.
Also, the game might not take place entirely in urban settings. Most of the other games moved around a lot, like how Snake Eater moved out of the jungle in the later sections. If this is your main reason to be excited, you might want to reconsider.
i have never played any mgs games and i hav seen my friends play 1 or 2 of them and they look ok to me but mgs4 looks real good especialy since its in an urban invironment but i want to know will i b satisfied do u think...? btw i love shootersLawtownspimp
:owhat you just asked was a SIN
k im quessing you own a playstation 3 mgs is a game with a really thick plot so either wiki it or go pick up some of the earlier games if you like the story then you should like the game.
mgs4 and the FF games were the selling point for me to buy a ps3 so if they dont pan out im gonna cry but if killzone 2 looks 3/4 as nice as the lil vid then i will be alright
Uh...listen to these people and play the others first, or you will be lost entirely. Part of what makes Metal Gear Solid one of the best series in videogame history is it's phenominal storyline. Of course that's not all, the games themselves are absolutely f***ing awesome as well. But you'll be missing out if you don't know the full story.
And what's the deal with 3? I hear mixed reviews from people. Metal Gear Solid 3 seems to be a love or hate type of thing. I thought it was great. All the Metal Gear Solids are equally great IMO. Some are just better/worse in ways than the others.
We all know that MGS4 will reign champion over the series though. There is no way in hell this game can NOT be amazing. And with online play as well? MGS3's online play was really fun (too bad it's not up anymore), but I'm sure MGS4 will kick it's ass in that department as well. I believe it will score no less than 9.0 on Gamespot. (but even if it doesn't, I'm one of the people that DGAF what gamespot thinks if I know the game is good)
Do yourself a favor, obtain MGS's 1 through 3, and play through them all. Then preorder MGS4 and snatch the second copy the day it comes out. (I say second because I'll have already snatched the first copy of the game mwahahahaha)
It's one of Sony's biggest games. It's like the Halo of 360. This game is going to be awesome online and offline. You can backtrack to the old Metal Gear games with the first one being on Playstation and the remake on GAmecube which you can play on the Wii if you have it. Part 2 is on PS2 and MGS2 Substance is on XBOX. Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater is on PS2 but get the updated version Metal Gear 3 Subsistence since the camera angle is way better. But at this one you'll eithea love it or hate it. If you started playing MGS back than, than you would appreciate how big it was big than and what it started. So nowadays if you compare games you would say ' Oh this shooter is way better I don't think Metal Gear is all that". It's just THE game that everybody was in AW of and it just became one of the best games ever made and a fan favorite.
