will mgs4 boost ps3 sales?

i think it will,considering its one of the best series ever.ive played every game and love metal gera,so im getting it.i think it wiil make ps3's fly off the shells

I think so but not but as much as a game like GTA would and this is because alot of people who are gamers just don't like MGS and alot of people who arn't gamers will be turned off by the "4" and think well if they havn't played, the story wont make sense.

However i know i want to play teh game but i'll wait to see if any of my mates buy a PS3 or it comes to the 360 cause £425 is too much for a console IMO i could buy a brand new GPU for that and max out Crysis.

i have played MGS games before and I can still guarantee that the story will make no sense. it'll have lots of style, though. I'm prety sure Kojima puts psilocybin in his coffee every morning.

As for this game being a system seller... not to the general public, but a lot of gamers are waiting for this title. I think it'll push a fair number of peple over the edge. Hopefully sony will have some more depth of content to support the console after MGS4 releases. Remember though that the PS3's only been out for 11 months.

The story is incredibly hard to follow, if not impossible, but supposedly number 4 should answer all of the questions, and reports are that they closed the story very well

MGS has never had such a large mainstream audiance like halo3 had.

MGS has always sold well to the hardcore, but its not going to sell 4 million copies the first day.

i dunno if MGS will move units or not...most people who want MGS4 for sure are already buying their ps3s in anticipation much like halo3 for the 360. im sure we will see a spike of people who waited for the game to jump on...but who knows. maybe MGS4 will reach further than all the other MGS games.

Yea thats why I said it will help quite a bit. But I think its more after the start. MGS4 is more of the start for PS3. Meaning more so it will be the first of the bigs. Its the latter that we dont know about. Say Kingdom Hearts Mixed with a God of War 3, added with the easts love of FF. But theirs always a new hero to, and who that will be, I dont know? Plus GT 5. Im telling you, thats gonna be big in the UK, and pretty good everywhere. GT online may be the biggest online racer ever! Those servers will be stuffed. Thats not to say that MGS4 wont be one of the best game at that point. But this system will go even beyond that.

And Killzone? I dont know. It will look great. But FPS? Who knows?
