I was trying to charge my controller, so I tried to put it in the USB slot but while doing so, it moved my PS3 about an inch back. Will it harm my PS3? Are the graphics worse now? Did the display get messed up?

I doubt your PS3 has been damaged in any way. Once turned off, check for loose wire connections but then again, since it moved back I don't think you'd have to. Enjoy your PS3 to the max! ;)

moving it an inch isnt gonna do anything. if you were to pick it up and slam it on the ground, THEN you may have a problem.

Me too :P,

but i think you and i both remember how "cautious" we were when we first got our PS3. I don't blame him for being worried or for even caring this much.

honestly, i do not know if you are trolling, however here is my answer if you are not: there are only two devices with mechanical parts and physical movement in the ps3, one of them is the blu-ray drive and the other is the hard disk drive (hdd from now on - and assuming you do not have a solid state hard disk drive - sshdd, which is basically huge flash drives in 2,5 inch enclosures or 3,5)... so the only way you can damage your ps3 by moving (or exerting physical force) is when the hdd or the bd is in operation, which may end up ruining these two devices (again assuming you are not dropping the ps3 from a balcony)... in case these parts are damaged you can see that immediately if your ps3 does give you an hdd error or does not read any optical discs...
