i got it last christmas, it is a star wars edition psp slim, it might freeze once in a while but not often and not a problem. so when do they just stop working or will mine ever just stop working, as i said befoore almost one year old slim. because if it dies ill remember the day i opened it and it was shiny and new and not scatched.but any way so will it stop working anytime soon?

I agree with ENDOT. If you treat it well, chances are very high that it will last a very long time. ;)

I also bought psp 2000 star wars edition(only because Darth Vader was on it) and after about 6 months my "X" just quit working, warranty covered it but i have always wonder if anyone else had this particular problem with this model.

Nope, me and my best friend have had this model since X-mas of last year, and both of ours are fine.

I had my psp 1000 for 2 1/2 years. The only problems I have with it is that the buttons are all worn out. And it can't go into standby mode, it just turns off when I try to put it in standby.

Since your psp has not already croaked, chances are it will last quite a long time if it is handled well. If anything stops working it will probably be the backlight or the UMD drive. And there is not a whole lot you can do to prevent those failures aside from using the unit less.

It depends, ive droped mine 3-4 times, i threw it once, and i sat on it 1nce in total- 2 dead pixels, and a small like that u can hardly see. Nothing basicly never froze. UMD's do freze your psp's though, if theyre scrached, it will like work then randomly turn off. But mine works fine. Treat it well, it wont break, Treat it like its a 2$ lolipop thats yucky then your chice. Hopefully your works, i got mine in april... Take care,

Slim

I have a psp fat for almost 3 years now (3 years at christmas) and there is almost nothing on it, hardly a few scratches on the back and it's not because i never used it because I've already spent hours on it (19 games + borrowed some)

it really just depends on how you treat it, and experience learned me that problems more often occur with psp slim than psp fat

My PSP will be four years old in March. I've only ever had the original sleeve it came with as protection for it and it goes everywhere I go. It still works perfect. Sure, there may be a couple scratches on it's face plate, but it has never frozen or acted weird in any other ways. I can see it lasting another 4 years easily. If you treat your property with any amount of respect, the PSP should last you for longer then you can imagine, I'm sure.

All good things must come to end, but your PSP should last a good while longer. Unless, you know, you chuck it against a wall or something.

I have a launch model and as long as you treat it right, it shouldn't ever die but you will get some scratches :(

I have had my piano black psp slim for less than a year. Maybe it is my imagination but it seems like I have to push harder on several of the buttons to get them to work. Is this normal? What should I do?

Everything freezes. And it's your own fault for not taking care of your equipment, mine is a launch model original PSP 1000 and it doesn't have one scratch on it and it's never been in a case.

I wouldnt worry about it. Take care of it. Only thing you will have to watch is your battery. But everything has to go sometime but to prelong your happy gaming just take good care of it.
