Will People still Play COD4 even though Black Ops is out ?

I'm just curious.. I mean, when MW2 and WAW was out people still played and enjoyed COD4 MW.. but do you think it'll be the same even with Black Ops out ? People could just give Black Ops all eyes until further notice and go back to COD4 or something else... Just curious..

It'll still stay popular. Each CoD game has it's fanbase and they'll continue to live on until the companies say so.

To be honest with you, I haven't played COD4 since WAW came out. Usually once I get the most out of the game (both campaign and mulitplayer) I move on. I kind of beat this game to death since it was the only game I was playing (multiplayer)at the time until WAW came out. Besides, I'm kind of a sucker for the older years war games.

C'mon, man. Use the sticky. Making BO threads again and again is obnoxious. This same thread exsisted on the front page last week, and Charter, you are here enough that I KNOW you saw it... I know you're a fan of making polls, and usually you have a good basis for them, but do GameSpot a solid and end this now.

Of course people will still play, it's not like every one of us CoD players is jumping ship permanently and some of us won't ever do it. "World At War" was positively JUMPIN' the days after that game was released. This is simply a waste of bandwidth.

Of course. It's just like any other game. Battlefield 2 for PC still has a huge fan-base--even though multiple Battlefield games have been releases since. Just because it's newer doesn't mean it's better. It will receive more publicity for a short while, but then people will look at both MW2 and Black Ops and decide which one suits them better. Personally, I prefer Black Ops. As for my friend: it's pretty much 50/50. Some went back. Some didn't. It's all about personal taste. --Especially since MW2 and Black Ops differ in more ways than just the guns and settings. a55assin

Quite a bit of people still play CoD4. It's the best multiplayer game imo.

I still think that WaW is the best of the bunch. MW didn't have the same addictive qualities in my opinion.

It may shrink for about 2 months, but it will start to grow again when BO starts getting old...COD4 is also being featured as a Black Friday deal for 10 dollars (Walmart I believe, maybe a different store)...So it'll still also bring in new members also.

I still usually play cod4 almost every day. I never have problems finding a match. On either pc or ps3.

while i like black ops...i just wish it had smaller maps (killhouse and shipment) and i really really hate the ballistic knife. i personally dont play most of the modes. not that black ops is bad...i think it just brought cod back to mw1's level

COD4 is a good game, I think a lot of people gravitated back to it after MW2 online play wreaked of hackers and unbalanced game play. Plus there are elitist players on there regularly, which is a standard in most online games with waning popularity.

I still think that WaW is the best of the bunch. MW didn't have the same addictive qualities in my opinion.
