What's up guys I was just watching a PS Move video and I thought abou this. Isn't it considered unfair if we have guys in KZ3 online running around with move controllers VS people with the standard dual shock? I mean Move is almost like using keyboard and mouse VS using the analog sticks. I hope there's some kind of game mode or rule to rule out move controllers or we might have a problem here. They might be able to swing their guns around very fast with that wand and it's going to be noobish. I hope not...

Wow, good thread man. I didnt think about this. Having 2 different controller types might have huge impacts in competitive multiplayer. I read about Microsoft doing studies about whether to link up the PC games (with games for windows live) to the XBOX360 games and have the people in both play with each other. I guess that one side dominated the other so bad (dont remember which one, but i'd guess PC) that it made it completely unfair which is why PC games have never played with console gamers together.

I think so. IR pointer (or what ever 1:1 motion tech it uses) will always dominate analog sticks.

it's way 2 early to tell. and just maybe they well have different servers so people with controllers can avoid the move. just like some of the servers on ut3 on the ps3 when people are using kb&m.

That would be quite funny, hopefully they're restrict games to DS3 only or Move only.

That would suck if people had to buy Move to play something like Killzone 3 though.

theres no proof that move will enhance gameplay. as many options kz2 had for matches im sure there will be choices for allowing move players and non move players into matches.

Where is the option "No they won't ruin it, they will enhance the whole game as dual analog is an archaic and extremely innacurate way of controlling an FPS". seriously if the Wii's controls do one thing right, its FPS controls. Best FPS controls behind PC.

Agree, Call of Duty on Wii is vastly superior to the "analog" consoles in terms of controls.

You just made me realize something, I bet they won't use the pointer function like in Socom4 but just the controller it self.

Well, the only thing Sony could do is splitting up the MP :/ Personally I guess I'd go with Move, the Wii really showed that controls are way better using a motion controller

That would never happen, Move would be an option, never a requirement for games like Killzone 3.

I'd probably have more trouble playing with the Move than a DS3.:? They'll probably have an option for only Move users, only DS3, and both when you create matches.

I think he meant that in a casual sense, as in "it would suck if people would have to purchase the Move in order to counterbalance the potential unfairness the Move itself could introduce to the MP." Well... I assume that's what he meant anyway :P ... at the very least, that would be my position on this matter.

it's not just a matter of speed, but also of precision.

naturally, some people are more "physically" talented than others, but generally speaking, it's easier to target with your hand or arm than it is with your thumb.

No it just means you have another way to play instead of a controller.... Will anyone get the point that Move is a controller and not so different than the normal controller it just interprits movements to control the game rather than buttons and sticks.

I think the analog sticks will be better. Your hands will be shaky and you will miss a lot. Look at some videos of Socom 4 with the move controllers and there aim is terrible.

First, you need a standard "no, it won't ruin a thing" option, which is what i would chose.

Second, i don't think there would be an issue with different controller types online. there is no issues when playing PC gamers online when some use a mouse and others use a controller. It's all to do with what the user feels comfortable with. There will be no advantage or disadvantage either way

I don't see how the Move controller will be like using a keyboard and mouse. To answer your question though... No, I don't see it being an adavantage... the game's physics will be the same for all controller types. Meaning that Move users will probably have to get used to the "weighty" feel, and adjust their movements accordingly.

anyone can buy keyobard+mouse adapters for ps3 anyway if they want so how does move make any difference? thats almost like saying its unfair to play counterstrike with a generic mouse against those razer mouse users , if you want a advantage you need to pay more, its like that with any gear

i think move will have some lag, so playing online wont work well. since you need to be fast and accurate...but if move isnt laggy then i guess move has the advantage. although i think a person who loves/likes fps and is not so much of a casual gamer would rather use a dualshock

there will be no weighty feel in kz3 according to the news as a option , it would be pretty weird to play such controls with move , you'd need to attach some extra weights on the move so the movemets will match , to be honest the weighty feel was a bad idea from the beginning imo and the main reason i didnt even finish the game

Maybe there should be different online game types that ONLY lets players play with PS Move and have seperate game types for DualShock 3. See how great my ideas are? Maybe I should get a job as a creative idea person or something at Sony.

ill just use the wiimote/nunchuck as a benchmark. the fps's on the wii just arent as fast as gamepad versions (particularly for turning around, but years and years of dual analag fps's have made gamers adept at aiming in that setup so i doubt it will be an evening factor for move players). honestly, i expect move users to be at a disadvantage. i think an option to go into servers only for a single input method is the best choice.

however, i think move will be the best way to experience the single player campaign. if theres one thing that motion controls are far better than gamepads at its immersion, and kz2 was definitely a fps aiming for immersion. it could even be the game's saving grace if guerilla gets rid of the weighty feel of the analog controls for kz3.

Move may cause a disadvantage for its users. I tried Socom 4 with it and the tracking is really good,...TOO GOOD! Unless you find some way to stop your hand from shaking its gonna be a pain to snipe with it.

So is it an option, or is it gone altogether?? I loved that about KZ2, and I've read that GG wants to tweak it some for KZ3 to make some of the weaker areas of it better... i.e. aiming.

They'll probably test Move vs DS3 and if there is a significant difference, they may tier games by controller

I just don't want to see super soliders running around swinging their guns left and right with their ps moves owning everyone with dual shocks. That's going to kill the game online. Kinda like SSFIV dualshock vs fightstick.

I can't really see them allowing the Move into the competitive multiplayer matches. I'm pretty sure they said there was going to be co-op and they'll probably allow it on that, but it might be cheap for some people to be able to use it in competitive modes.

That was really only first generation Wii shooters, now most if not all come with an option to adjust turning speed and bounding box size to make it more in line with a dual analog set up, but it still offers much great accuracy. A headshot with pointer controls is much easier than one with analog controls. However the saving grace for this game would be that FPS in general aren't really about skill these days, with the perks and all that, it really comes down to map exploitation and often glitch exploitation and no matter what kind of controller you use, that makes unevenly even for everyone.

If the move controller will be as accurate as they say, then it might cause a problem between experienced players. If a novice is using the move but doesn't know the layout of the levels or anything like that and they are up against someone who knows the maps, then they will lose. If you have 2 people with equal knowledge and experience of the game, then theoretically, PS move owners will win. I honestly don't expect move to fly off shelves. There will be many more dual shock users than move users, ao I think people will be fine.

I think Move could possibly give an online player some advantage - but no more than someone playing on a bigger, better screen than me or something. I don't think it'd make them relatively harder for me to hit - they just might be able to get me a bit easier.

I hope that made some sense.
