Personally I think it should drop to $1.99 for about 10 minutes. That would be nice.

Everyone would mosh and start hitting each other while trying to get inside the store.

They can do it at Ozz Fest.
By the looks of things they'll be stripping down current models sometime in the future (like killing backward compatibility) then sell it at a lower price whilst releasing a new one with a similar price of the prior original one with more HD space and still containing backward compatibility...
So by factoring it in....there won't be much or a price drop in the near future....just the illusion of it...(if that makes sense)

waaaa I paid $600 399 for 80 gb hdd is great. get a job or just stop whining. theo_1I'm not whining, if i were whining i would have wrote a 15 paragraph long rant about it. Im just asking if anyone else thinks the price should drop sometime soon. Also keep in mind that your talking to a 14 year old so getting a job isnt an option.
what? my nephew got a job and hes getting a ps3 soon with his hard earned summer jobHanabieYeah like someone would hire a complete stranger to do work for them. An actual employer wouldnt hire a kid.

Well you can get a PS3 when you turn 15 and get a job...
80gb+MGS4 for $499 is a great deal and BC-less-80gb for $399 is also a great deal ...
i don't know why some people are whining cuz of the price
that machine is a piece of work and i am surprised at the price of the 80 GB bundle .. Sony is already losing money from that bundle just to please their customers..
PS3 deserves every $ i paid for it
I bloody hope they dont have a price drop. The ps3 is so worth every penny and sony deserve it.
They dont charge for things like online play(meaning 360 can afford price drops because they make the money back out of you sooner or later anyway) so yea, keep the price where it is!

yea your whining, I'm 34 and was mowing lawns in our neighborhood at 12 yr old, delivered the Flint journal @ 13 and worked @ a party store stocking stuff and sweeping n moppn floors heck I even worked as a gopher for my neighbor who was a contractor. Stop making excuses and come up with a plan to raise $400 and execute it. Your parents may even meet 1/3 or even 1/2 of your need. Your at the age when you need to show initiative.
Where the hell am i supposed to get 400$ from?
ConkerAndBerri2
The party store was a family owned shop they Had games like IKARI WARRIORS, DOUBLE DRAGON aand I was always riding my bike or walking down to the store aabout 2 miles. I just figured I should be working here and I could buy more aaagagmes for my NES and race the go-carts. So I just asked George, who owned the store if he was hiring for any positions at all. that was my first hourly paying job @ 14 and he paid me $5.00 per hr in 1987.

1987 isn't 2008 and a family owned store isn't a retail store.

Yeah life is a lot different now then it was in the 80's, you can't just walk up to the manager and say "Hey I want a job". You have to get interviewed, then fill out all these forms and get a backround check.

No, as that would be a giant middle finger to all those $636 spenders out there.

If you live in Flint then you know good and well there is no jobs out there for even a 20 year old especially a 12 year old, heck if you know of any jobs I'm interested 20 year old male college student 3.8 GPA

No actually 12 years ago I moved to Springfield, Mo to go to college and get the heck out of that dying economic black-hole of crime known as Flint, Mi. Jobs are tough to find everywhere right now. But there is always a need for a dishwasher at some hole in the wall. My brother live in Fenton and is taking some classes that will get him into Detroit Edison. Finish college and do what ya gotta do for work and continue studying for masters degree if necessary. Just work find somthn be humble and do anything if it is needed. You don't just walk into a life-time career you work toward it. Also when I lived on N. Grand Traverse in Flint I drove down to Plymouth daily to make cabinets on off days I worked at a Coney Island in Waterford, Mi my point is don't be afraid to commute a good distance to get paid. Always nice to run into a fellow Flintstone. :)[QUOTE="I_pWnzz_YoU"][QUOTE="theo_1"][QUOTE="I_pWnzz_YoU"][QUOTE="theo_1"][QUOTE="ConkerAndBerri2"]Where the hell am i supposed to get 400$ from?

Mowing lawns doesn't get you much, and I don't see any kids doing it nowadays. I used to do a paper route when I was younger and got like $10 a route (bout 2hr's) and it just wasn't enough for the work I was doing so I quit.
Well another console cost $279 and soon to be $199 starting September and it's not the Wii. But $400 is definately worth the spend for the 40GB PS3, but I must warn you their aren't many games that are worth the purchase just yet other than MGS4. But overall you may have to settle for another console if you can't afford $400 for a PS3. And don't expect a PS3 price cut anytime soon because Sony already pretty much dropped the price to what they can afford as a company.Where the hell am i supposed to get 400$ from?
