That's up to Konami. Sony has to contact them and get a deal going about it. There may be one in the future but nothing has been said. It's best that you just get the PS2 essentials collection at this point.
No one knows for sure, so it's anyone's guess. I'd say it might come later but that's if other 3rd parties start doing collections. I think that once one 3rd party (like the possible Ubisoft stuff we've heard about) does it, others will tag along.
Will PS3 ever get Metal Gear Solid Collection? Because if it wont, I am getting a PS2 for those games.

I just recently hunted down MGS2 & 3 and got each for $3us... I would suggest getting thee to a GameStop hence, and fishing for them in the cut-out bin. It's ultra cheap to get the whole series. In my opinion, that set of games is good enough for a PS2 purchase, especially since you can get the series for less than $20 for the total!

I would get them at GS but there arent any in my country. I can only get Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection for 50$ plus a used PS2 for 50$.
Hopefully it happens, It's been a long time since I played MGS 1, 2 and 3. We could see MGS 2 and 3 on PSN one day however but I would love to see PS3 HD Collection similar to God of War one at some point of time in future.
