nobody knows and there are no information from Sony themself. Anyway, I don't really see why they shouldn't use their system on later Generations and I hope that even future systems like a PSP2 will include trophies
What say we wait a few more years and then Sony can let us know themselves? To be honest, i can't see them dropping the concept now that it is supposed to be mandatory in the game releases.
PS4.....thats like waaaaaay to early to make one of them, PS3 was like, out 2 years ago or somthing. Very few games out for it =S

Yeah, i believe it will be released in a couple of years, maybe 4-5 more, but what i'm wondering is if future consoles will hold the trophies you'veearned in this consoleon your kinda next-next-gen-account.

Your cool. I understand, you're just asking a question, but everyone thinks you want the PS4 already. To answer your question, I think the trophy support will carry on. Will they transfer from PS3 to PS4? I don't know.
i dont want them to make a PS4....not yet, it seemed like yesterday when i bought my PS3 O.o.

i still have not finnished using the PS2 =S....got that for Xmas 2001 i think. That seems like i got it the day before i bought the PS3...and i got that in 2007 =S. Why does life go sooo quick, next year they prob have the PS600 out....Hmmm PS600, i cant wait to see the Graphics on that....But wont it be the end of the world by then lolXD

I'm pretty sure people have already said this and some are probably thinking it but seriously, Who Cares?! The PS3 isn't even half way through it's "life cycle" give it a chance.

Whats with all the questions about PS4's? For one, how the f*ck would we know, and two, go play your PS3 and live in the now. But really to answer the question I think if they dont they are making a huge mistake, because then all of our work for some of those harder ones will be for absolutely nothing.

Finally a better answer, I DO UNDERSTAND THAT THE PS4 ISN'T GOING TO BE RELEASED IN THE NEAREST FUTURE AND I DON'T WANT TO NEITHER (to most posts above).
I'm betting they will. After all, its the playstation network, not the playstaion 3 network. As long as it stays a "network" I'm sure everything will change over. Although based on the PS3's current ability, the PS4 may have something better than trophies, like a take-home super-model who cheers you on in the background while you play. *shrug* (at 400.00 per system, couldn't that be thrown in there? Just a suggestion...)

If PS4 came out in the next year, I wounldn't get one. For them to think Sony would made such an irrational move and release new hardware anytime soon.

hahaha omygosh... I'll be Darned if im gunna collect trophies, if in ten years they don't carry over to the ps4!! WooooW u do realize trophies can't be turned in for anything, the only point to them is that feeling of accomplishment you get from achieving a goal that was set for u.
It was really a concern of mine whether my trophies will be on the account if there is a ps4. I hope it is for real, and if not, atleast 5 automatic platinms if i'd have a certain amount of trophies by the time its out lol.

i think that it is likely that you would be able to carry your existing account onto the ps4... if that's the case, chances are that trophies (or something of that nature) would be transferred as well (either as static historical figures, or something that can be updated either from PS3 or if PS4 will play PS3 games and allow for trophy function). once again, this is speculation.
