im a huge resident evil fan i've been one since i was in 3rd grade, and im a senior in college now and its just amazing? i mean apparently capcom says that this is the last game from the main story line, so who thinks it's truly going to end with this game? I'd love to finally see a final confrontation between chris and wesker after almost 10 years
I would love them to bring back the classic RE with pre-rendered backgrounds and whatnot. I have been playing resident evil since like 1998 or so and been loving it since!

I doubt they will end the serries just as it has re-emerged as a key blockbuster in the industry. Since RE4 the serries is a cash cow to rival almost any other property.
Even if they end the main storyline, I am sure there will still be other REs. Is their biggest selling franchise right now, so I doubt they'll kill it anytime soon. Honestly, I am still waiting for honest RE2, RE3 and Code Veronica remakes to go with RE0 and RE. It would be ten times better than doing light gun games or diluted versions of the games.
true, all great things must come to an end, hopefully 5 won't be the end for resident evil, i've been with the series since the beginning, i hope it continues on for a longer time
Well, I remember someone from Capcom (don't remember who and when it was) stated something like "If the main character was Chris, we'd like to wrap up the current story "
So my guess is that maybe they are planning on closing the Umbrella stuff and not necesarily ending the series. For RE6 they could come up with a fresh story to keep the series going.
Its made by capcom, it wont end until RE 50+ and each game will be ported to every system + cell phone editions, capcom turned into a milkage supreme company. They still are great at making other games but they destroyed my fave series made by them which was RE.
I wish, this series needs to end. I mean, dont get me wrong, I love the games (own all in the series), but the story is'nt getting any better... and I've never really been a fan of the characters either.
I stopped caring about the story after the 3rd game.

I dont think they will end it with Resident Evil 5. I'm sure Capcom is already planning or at least thinking about it's future in the next-gen console a few years from now. Why would they end it? Imagine Resident Evil on next-gen, 2010 or 2011, whatever. It would be pretty crazy to give that all up.
I hope not. I've been with the series since the 2nd one, then I played the first one right after that. But I've played most of them(except Outbreak). But I really don't see the series ending after this one. If anything ends it will be the use of Chris. They can still use Jill, Leon again if they really wanted to, Claire, and some of the side ones if they really wanted to milk some more money. But I see a 6th one coming with Leon as the main character, but that's just me
