i have know clue what it is well what it does to be exact i have searched online and still have no clue. could someone please explain what it is, does, and what the benifit of having it is (i recently deleted it)

It uses your ps3's hardware to do protein folding for Stanford for uses in discovering new medicines.

I use it quite a bit.

It actually shows you the proteins folding, which is pretty awesome in my opinion.

You can also see a globe where it shows a light on the globe for every ps3 doing this.

Do you start up folding@home like a game, or is it active whenever you're not playing a game kinda like when you're listening to music on the ps3? and by that i mean that you can browse the internet and such and will still lend hardware to stanford

You pretty much start it up like a game, you can choose different pictures for it and play your own music.
