Would it be as slim as the PS2 slimline? would it be cheaper? would it have better or worse features?

Give you thoughts?

Do not have worry about this one for another eight years. Who knows what technological changes there will be by then. But do not look for a great cost cut.

eventually throughout its last 3 years or 4 they'll comeout with an improvement to top the new microsoft console, im guessing it'll have hardware heating problems like they previously did with the ps2 slim, it is possible, but it'll take sometime, its to early to roll out with their new merchandise to sell to everyone, the thing sony would do is probably, just sayin its possible, not promising u anythin, but they'll come out with a 320gb model and then 4 months later a slimed down 160gb model, then 2 months later the 320 gb model slim, so in a course of half a year they'll dissapoint alot of customers, they cant do that now since thehy dont have many, and our current position in the economy, so im saying by 3nd of 09 they'll anounce something...just maybe....no i do not work for sony

Eventually. There's no reason to think they won't, but it won't be for several more years.

If you look at Sony trends: They release "Life" with playstation and playstation home... By the time a fourth console needs to be released, instead of "play"station, it will be "Life"station.

This is really one of the weirder questions I keep reading on these boards... People seem to forget that it took years for the PS1 and PS2 to slim down. Why is it they expect a slim PS3 so relatively soon in the system's life cycle? Why does it even matter?

Who wants to bet that backwards compatibility will return with the slim model in 2010?

Eventually yes, but atm they dont have the technology to make it significantly smaller, they need to work on a cheaper way to make the console first.

The PS3 is only 2 years old. I think we have several more years to go before a Slim is released. It's not like the Slim PS2 came out in 2002.

they don't need a new one the one now is already top of the line and don't need to make new system until they can actually improve this one and even then no reason this one is powerful slimming it would make it weaker. most of the space anyways is for the fans which keep ps3 from overheating.
