i know the ps3 is profile 1.1 enabled rite now because thats supposed to be the mandatory spec, but will Sony update the PS3 to the optional profile 2.0?

cause BD live looks really cool!

Sony has confirmed PS3 is indeed getting the BDLive upgrade this year. Sony has also announced that BD movies can be copied from PS3 onto the PSP for a portable copy.

BDLive is the additional interactive features for bluray, also known as Profile 2.0. It allows all sorts of very cool additional features including mandatory additional video and audio decoders as well as more storage for including updates to disks. Im betting that in 18months itll become the base standard and 1 more update will come out after that and that will be the one we eventually know as bluray.
