I honestly can't imagine there'll be another price drop before the holidays. Even then, outside of special sales (like Black Friday), I don't imagine it'll drop to $200. At a guess, the next price drop likely will be closer to $225, with the PS3 only dropping to below $200 once the PS4 is ready for launch, which isn't likely to be until late 2013 or 2014.
The PS3 is selling more than the Wii and 360. Why would they make a price drop?
If anyone here has any business sense, the smartest thing SONY can do is make a $50 price drop once wii u comes Q4 this year.
What do you guys think? Is there a posibillity for the PS3 to get a price drop around June? I'm thinking about buying one. Here in Mexico, the PS3 is stupidly expensive and a cousin might be able to come to Mexico in June. I was hoping i could get one for around $200.BuddyGuy88I would guess if they announce this year at E3 or next year the new PS system. Then you will soon get a price Drop.
June, this year?
There is no indication, we already got a price drop just last year....
I doubt we will see a price drop at all this year, but if we do, it will be in the holidays. It's unlikely though. More likely to have one next year actually.
Remember, the PS3 started at $600 and has had the most price drops as a console this gen over the other consoles...I don't see it happening this year, especially randomly in June.
The PS3 has got a damn bad ass BLU-RAY player in it, free online, controllers have built in batteries, charge cables, plays PSOne games, Upscales DVDs...nah, probably next year 2013 at May or Xmas.
If the 360 gets a price drop (which personally I see that happening this year), expect the PS3 to follow suit. Quote me.
I'm not sure what the prices are like in Mexico, but if you're planning on taking a thanksgiving vacation in the States you can attend a Best Buy for the Black Friday shopping spree. This past Thanksgiving there was a PS3 in a 2 game bundle on sale for $200. Outside of Black Friday, you can get a bundle as well but not for $200, maybe upwards of $300. Check Amazon.com, if pricing is really a big deal look to finding a used PS3 instead, and buy pre-owned games. Do some research. I don't imagine there are Gamestops in Mexico, otherwise it would be much easier. This for me is one of the many positives of living in New York... we've got almost as many used game stores as we have Mcdonald's restaurants.

$270? Here in the States a Vita with Wifi connectivity is $300! I already own a DS and PS3... no more gaming systems for me, thanks. ...that is at least until the PS4.

That's United 'rip off' Kingdom for you, seriously no 3D, no 320gb memory and they're asking for £270?? No way hozay. The only time in the near future of a Price drop for Playstation 3 would be when the Wii U launches. Sony could counter Nintendo next console launch by a price drop to $225.00 at the most.
I wouldn't expect to much in the way of a $199.99 PS3 anytime soon. Sony has lots to much money on the Playstation 3.
Nawww man, if it had 3D it would be worth it if it had a memory like the PS3 brilliant, having said that, when a price cut occurs, then I'll consider, but for now, I find it stupid to be priced more than a PS3.The vita is a lot more impressive then you understand if you don't think it's worth that.
