Will they drop the price on a PS3 soon?

It's been at 299.00 in NA for a couple of years now.  And they are about to announce the PS4.  Think they'll drop the price soon?  I really want the white limited edition.  But I don't want to pay 299.00, then a month later they drop the price by 50-100 bucks you know.

i think the system is $249.99 now but the larger gb version bundles range from $269-299.99. The uncharted 3 bundle with 250 gb super slim model is $269. A better deal is the amazon exclusive deal with 250gb super slim, sony allstars battle, ratchet and clank collection and sony bluray remote for $279.

The price has been $250 for a while now. I think Sony should seriously consider dropping the price of the PS3 and PSVita by $50 if/when they announce the PS4 (cut the price of those ridiculously expensive memory cards for the PSVita too).

The slim PS3 dropped the price to $249.99 in August 2011. The PS3 is definitely due for another price drop especially with the PS4 coming out soon. If it drops to $199.99, I think that I will buy another one unless the PS4 is backwards compatible with the PS3.

The system is cheap enough for what you get now.

You get a great game system, media device and a Bluray player.

I do think there will be a price drop as soon as next gen is released or a few months before.

More than likely, yes. It'd be a pretty smart decision. After the new console comes out, I do not see why the Playstation 3 would not get a price drop, a significant one at that.

I doubt it gets a price drop soon. I think it dropped not too long ago from 299 to 249. Don't expect a drop when the ps4 is offically announced. Only when it goes on sale may you see a drop for the ps3. So late 2013 is my guess.

Actually I bought a slim when they launched a few years ago.  I sold it to fund a gaming PC.  But now I want another so I can play Ni No Kuni.

Its always a hard decision since the price drop can happen anytime. I would look for great bundle deals and purchase it. It's worth every penny. ;)
