Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 were the last shooters I'll be buying for a while. I'm kinda tired of the genre.
I can understand your fatigue with the genre. I feel the same way at times, but I'm a sucker for "finishing the story." Especially when it comes to COD.Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 were the last shooters I'll be buying for a while. I'm kinda tired of the genre.

Buying Battlefield 3 on PC for the 64 players game.
Buying Modern Warfare 3 for PS3 for fast and intense CQC action .
Along with
Rage - PS3
Dark Souls - PS3
Honestly I will buy both games, even though I wasnt impressed with either MW game so far, I feel they know they have more competition this time, so I have a feeling they probably tried to raise the bar a notch, instead of just a new coat of paint like CoD has rehashed like 20 times now.... lol. BF3 will be a midnight release pick up... I care little for the "storylines" of either game, seeing as though shooters generally have weak storylines in my opinion. I did two combat tours, and both games outside of MP may hit a little too close to home with me. Problem is, I might not have internet for about a week or two span during the release of both games.... I do want the preorder bonuses though. It just burns me up a little that since both games are unlock based, I will be at a major disadvantage starting into the online play a couple weeks late... :(
I really hope that the BF3 MP beats the hell out of the beta... I heard the other level that was available on the PC only beta was beast, so we shall see, because I thought the PS3's metro level was crap for the most part...
MW3 only, After that terrible beta from BF3, I'll be more cautious about it and check out the reviews and input from friends and the people here who get it.
I'm having trouble getting excited for either of those games. I'll decide once they've been out a little while.
MW3 and BF3 is so different that you really can buy them both imo if you really like the genre.
I'm personally fed up with CoD by now, great games but they're milking us too much with it, I see no reason th buy MW3 when I own MW2.
BF series at least plays different to Cod and is not a Cod clone like everything else.
I think I'll go with BF3 but most people could go with both if they aren't as fed up with CoD as I am
