I watched a few gameplay vids and it looks pretty cool but i'm still undecided. Have to play a demo first
Yep, sure thing. I even have the Hunter Edition preordered :D
Im a big Alien and Predator fan, not of the new weird movies, for the lack of a better, uncensored word. But the old ones are clas.sics in my book.
Im also a big fan of the original 2 (not counting the really retro ones xD) and I have big hopes for this little fella. The first was really good, despite the poor graphics for that time (something similar happening again :p) and it was made by almost the same guys so even if they keep the old gameplay, I will like it.
But lucky us, they enhanced stuff, now it seems really cool to play like all the races, and Im dying to try the online! The mode were there is only 1 alien, sounds particularly amazing, mostly because of the difference in the races, which, despite being rehashed modes, will get a fresh feeling cause of this. I mean, when you are a simple enemy that has to play almost the same as the "survivors" you have to think that there is something brong. I also hope that it has split screen, specially for the survival mode, something like maybe in Resistance 2.
Man I would be sticked to the screen like a baby to you know what :P
This game should redefine FPS's. No other shooter has three different (balanced) archetypes with completely different play-styles. There's a reason people are still playing the 2001 version online...there's nothing like it.Dancing-Bear
The question is: Is it really balanced? Will the online multiplayer work good? I want to see that for myself.
I will definatly give this game a try, the videos i saw looked awesome.

This will be the 3rd version and that question has been answered with each one. They work very hard to balance all three.
AS long as the game lives up to the past AVP games and is not buggy i will def buy it. i loved avp on my old atari jag and i loved avp 2 on my pc so unless like i say the game turn out to really suck "i doubt" or turns out to be really buggy then i will buy it
At first I had no interest in this game. But all of the gameplay videos I have seen thus far have been ace. I have actually developed a huge interest in this game. There are just so many games coming out that I don't know what games to buy. I will be getting Bioshock2 and BFBC2 for sure and I hope I can afford to pick this one up as well.
im not a fan of the movies nor the first game, so i have zero interest in this game. marcl18123Judging by your sig and profile picture I'm just going to assume that this type of game isn't for you.

(i dont like scary/gory movies or games).
I went to pre-order it today but the stupid chick at the GS checkout pre-ordered Aliens : Colonial Marines (?!) so I gotta go back and switch it, maybe for the Hunter Edition, who knows, I just want to freakin' game.
I'm on the fence. Not sure. It's a fantasy FPS, so that alone gives it some points. And I do like the Predator and Alien films (not the AVP films, however) and I've seen some of the gameplay and it looks absolutely visceral. However, I'm still on the fence. White Knight Chronicles and Bioshock 2 release two weeks and a week before it, respectively, and I still have to save up for FFXIII, Resonance of Fate, and Yakuza 3, which release on the same day. Might just wait for a price drop.
Fail. AvP isn't a movie game, the movies were based off of the games and the culminated interest in the Alien and Predator movies.Movie games usually suck, but it still looks interesting. I'll play the demo before I decide.

So what you're saying is that it was a game before it was a movie, I thought it was the other way around. I'll still wait for a demo before I get it.

The first game came out long before the first AVP movie (which was absolutely horrible).

Actually, it was a comic before it was a game before it was a movie.
I'm on the fence for three reasons.
1) This is the most obvious, no demo has been released so far. I'm not buying it unless there's a demo to try out first.
2) Class balance, I know they say that the three races are balanced in terms of combat, but I've played enough MMO's and online games which feature class based stuff to think otherwise.
3) The maps. It takes place in just a darkly lit spaceship, it has some appeal to me but even in the gameplay videos the setting looks so repetitive. It's just one dark corridor after another.
I initially had no interest in this game, I thought it would just be another terrible movie based game. After I watched some interviews and gameplay videos, my mind was completely changed, this game looks amazing. I personally think this will be a sleeper hit and be the Arkham Asylum of 2010. Definitely buying it.
I was excited for it, until I saw REBELLION on the front cover and immediately stopped getting excited. Oh joy its going to be another Rogue Warrior I can feel it..

Oh god no. Nothing can be that bad.
I'm stoked for survival mode!
