Closing Comments We haven't even got to the best bit -- all this is yours for a mere £11.99. While WipEout HD is essentially a redressing of the previous PSP games, it's hard to complain when the source material was so good in the first place and the redressing is so assured. As a standalone title, WipEout HD would impress, but as a download title it's nothing short of essential.

Also, keep in mind that the people that are reviewing these games are just journalism majors that are taught how to write well not necessarily review games well.
Gamespot hate the PS3. My favourite games, Ratchet and Uncharted were bashed here too. Ratchet got 7.5 here but on IGN it got 94. Uncharted got 8 here and 92 on IGN. They also rated GT5P 7.5 where IGN gave it 8.5.
not to mention the fact that they always review 360 games and then copy and paste to PS3 (when dealing with those multiplatform games) two weeks after they've reviewed the 360 version!
I'm wondering if GS had a real objective opinion. I think I could do a better rating and review sometimes, if I had the same access to the games they do. I wonder if they are hiring. :lol:

As far as Wipeout goes I think the GS review is horrible. His big gripe seems to be that it was on PSP first. Well okay what about the millions of people who never played it on PSP like myself. Recreates on other systems never seemed to effect the score in the past. Look at Ikaruga... on Dreamcast it got 8.5, on Gamecube it got 8.8 and on X360 it got 8.5 and essentially the same game on every system. Wipeout HD is a much bigger improvement.

Stardust has always been better than Geometry Wars, I don't know how GS gave it a 7. These reviewers are weird at times. Besides everyone, don't buy a game for the scores a site gives them, buy it because you'll like it. It's good to listen to reviews, but ultimately, it's what you like. It's like saying,"I do my homework & study for the teachers. **** the teachers, you're do the work for yourself/ your own goals. So in same context, **** GS :P

Exactly. I mean they gave quest for booty a 7.5 even though he said the graphics and everything was improved over tools of destruction and its short...But wait it was only 15 dollars and the reviewer even sounded like he really liked it. Like you said its all about your tastes.
who cares what score it got from a certain site?...reviews are just opinions...rent the game if you're interested in it...the reviewer at ign obviously liked it more than the reviewer here at gamespot....who cares....i'll buy a game if it looks good to me, regardless of score
Yet you and everyone else in the thread claiming to not like or ever read "ZOMG TEH BIAS" GS reviews are actively funding those reviews right now by using the Gamespot forums and increasing the sites hits stats, which makes the site more attractive to advertisers, which directly funds the activities on the main website you claim such disdain for. Like a dog chasing it's own tail, it's just very counter productive.

dude it's only $20, with HD graphics, 60 fps, split screen and online play, and total tracks from both of the PSP games. Seriously, it's more expensive to buy both of the PSP games :|
It may not be something entirely new, but you haven't really experienced Wipeout like this before... and the Devs know that, which is why it's $20.
I stopped trusting IGN reviews a couple years ago when it gave Jade Empire a 9.9. I stopped lost a little trust in GS reviews when it gave Splinter Cell 3 an 8.something (GOTY.) When all else fails, go metacritic.

Yes i disagree with some GS reviews but thats the difference in opinions. I do agree with some reviews too like Motorstorm and MGS4/GTAIV. Take the bads with the good and just let it go. If you like the game who cares what some reviewer said about it.
I don't think GS are biased but damn, they really do not like the PS3's library. Aside from MGS 4 and Resistance, they have underrated pretty much every exclusive PS3 game.

call it paranoia or what ever you want to call it , but i noticed that not long ago , for example 2 days ago i got in www.gamespot.com and looked at the latest "on the spot" and i clicked on it and all of the sudden i appear on the xbox 360 side of the page.(this issue was solved the same day ) r new releases on any given week , you see games that are on all systems for example pure is schedulled for the same day on ps3 360 and pc , though it only was tagged 360, unless you digg on to it you might not know there is a ps3 version. i bealive games should be tagged with all the systems that its going to be available on.
