Since i have the 60g I wanted to take advantage of the Wi-fi and get a wireless router so i can keep the PS3 where it is. When searching for one, I dont kno to what extent I have to go to get the best connection. I do not want to have to make my fellow gamers wait for me because i have a bad connection or something. I kno that the internet provider will have an effect to, but mine is fine. so I was wondering what a good one to get would be thats not too expensive. Any help is appreciated

Get a linksys. It works well with my PS3, PSP, XBOX360 and PC. Don't get anything else, you'll have problems.

I had this one while I was in Iraq. It's a good one to have.

looking at the no. of replies, am sure u r confused Megagamer888. I have used Dlink, buffalo, Netgear and linksys routers, they all worked fine. presently am using the linksys to connect my Xbox 360, Ps3, Wii, PSP and my 3 laptops. Never faced any problems. This router is a Linksys Wireless N router and i got for $180.

Others start from $50.

it depends on the sales guy he might try to get to buy the more expensive one, but you should do your research before you go out and buy one, i have a wireless linksys and it works great and it is pointless to get the speedbooster because to take advantage of the speed you need to have a computer with a speedbooster card in it...

I personally have used a ****** router for the past 2 years. As far as price goes, the router you need really depends mostly on how far away the PS3 is going to be from the router, and whether or not the signal will have to travel through large number of walls. There are certain routers out now that are a little more expensive but carry the signal around walls instead of through them to keep signal strength up and consistant.

The ****** i use is currently $35 from Best Buy but I wouldnt recommend it if your PS3 is going to be more than a room or two away from where the router will be. As far as hooking it up, make you follow the instructions step by step to get started. I should be checking the forums tomorrow afternoon sometime....feel free to private message me for help if you need it.

another vote for linksys I believe they were the ones who pioneered Wifi routers I've had mine since it first came out (I tried it with the PS3 and my connection signal was barely 10%) went out, purchased a newer model (I haven't changed my router in 5+ years) and voila, connection signal surged to 90%!

ya i agree , lynksys it the best, get the one with speed boost.

The Speed Boost feature only works if you have a Speed Boost card. Since the PS3 doesn't have a Speed Boost card, it's a useless feature for him. ;)

On Topic: Go with a Linksys.
