Is 92% good? I just connected my PS3 wirelessly and got 92% signal strength. Is this good? Does this mean there will be 8% more lag than with a wired connection?

yeah i dont have a very good signal at all... sometimes i have lag, sometimes its perfect. i have no idea y i dont have a great signal tho. i have one of the top linksys wireless router i could find n i have it in the next room, n i usually only have a singnal strength of about 60 -70%. i really dont understand y, but i have the same problem with my sony vaio laptop.... meanwhile my dad usually has a 90%+ signal on his toshiba laptop most of the time. im thinkin maybe its some kind of connection problem between linksys - sony products.... i dont know... it sucks tho. anyone have any thoughts that could help?

If you have a few wireless devices within the same range of the wireless router and they have differing strengths it is usually due to the case of the device. For example a MacBook Pro will always have a weaker signal than a MacBook because the aluminum case interferes with the wireless antenna. As long as the device works though and your signal isn't dropping out it's all good.

as long as u have a connection over i think 20% or 30%, and it doesnt cut off you should get the same as u would with a 90% connection

Are you kidding me? 92% is incredibly good. My router is downstairs and I get around 65% strength with my PS3 upstairs, but I have no problems with lag.

Mine is in my basement about 15ft from my PS3 and my signal strength is usually 95-100% sometimes it dips to 85, but it's usually really good. I get the same with my PSP.

You are get to go. Remember the grading system in school anything in the 90% range is an A. Don't worry just have fun your signal is strong.

I'm usually around 55% and have no problems and still maintain low pings. Only difference would be instead of getting a full 54Mbps a second, you would only get like 36Mbps....but most internet isn't even that fast (T1, cable, and dsl aren't that fast).

My computer's wireless card only gets 2/5 bars to it and my internet maintains its stats

My router must be broken judging from what im reading hear, at best i only ever get a max of 25% and usually its less than 15 but often it dips to 2%.

I can get a better signal from my next door neighbours routers but sadly they're all locked down so i can use them.

Hey, I was planning on getting a wireless router soon. What kind do you guys use? Just a wireless G? What about the wireless G plus MIMO? And then there's the wireless N. Would there be any advantage to getting anything above a wireless G? I want to use it for my PS3, PSP, DS, and a PC. On the back of the box, it says for online gaming you at least need G plus MIMO. Is that true?

I thought maybe it was marketing BS. Seriously, that is exactly what I was thinking. So do all of you just have a regular wireless G?

I have an Apple Airport Express (B/G) plugged in to the ****** ADSL2 + VOIP modem I got from my ISP. I've considered getting a draft N spec Apple wireless router because my Macs and PCs are all draft N. I'll get around to it 1 day.
