Sony Worldwide Studios VP Scott Rohde also reaffirmed Sony's commitment to its existing hardcore market, saying: "our heritage: we're never going to compromise our core; great exclusive games. This is a new initiative to us. Some teams are looking into how they might incorporate motion control into some existing plans; others are totally focused on making the best sequels to the games we all love. It's not something I'm worried about."

I am worried, but I'm glad Sony is willing to stop this in it's tracks that will make the PS3 from being another Wii.

I don't see why anyone would worry about shovel ware. Sure, there will be shovel ware, but what is there to worry about? Just ignore it if you don't like it

Because after a couple of years of the ps3 trying to find its identity, the last thing it needs is to do it again with casual gaming and selling its soul for quick money and crap games.

Can't say the same thing about the Wii. I doubt that there will ever be that much shovelware on the PS3 though because there wouldn't be as big of a market for it. You'l undoubtedly see some, but it won't be the majority of games released.

The PS2 had lots of shovelware and still went down as one of the greatest consoles of all time. I doubt the PS3 will be any different.

Almost everything they showed was pre-alpha, come E3 I'm sure they will have some impressive stuff to show
