I hated Heavenly Sword. It's one of the worst games I've ever played. It's got terrible fighting mechanics, crap weapons, horrible projectile controlling sections, crap boss fights, crap story, over acted cut scenes, too many cut scenes, old fashioned fixed camera angles and an ugly female lead character. That's all I can think of right now but there's more reasons why I hate it. Oh yeah. How could I forget the fact it's only 5-6 hours long. Ninja Gaiden Sigma and DMC4 are much better.x-2tha-z
It had a solid fighting mechanic, the weapons were sweet, the projectile controlling was great, the boss fights were epic, the story was short and sweet, the "over-acting" is what you would call good voice acting, then how did you play MGS4?, the camera angles were great like God of War, Nariko was pretty hawt. Then you must absolutely hate Portal right?

I would agree, Heavenly Sword was amazing, in my opinion, better than Ninja Gaiden and DMC4. if anything the storyline in HS was way better than that of NG or DMC4.Now my choice for worst PS3 game to date would have to be untold legends for me, well i think thats the name of it.

You're wrong. Heavenly Sword is a terrible game. If it was so great why aren't they making a sequel? The cut-scenes were done using motion capture on the body and face, so no, when I said they were "over-acting" I wasn't talking about the voice overs. What's Portal got to do with this conversation anyway? Portal is a great game. Are you saying Heavenly Sword is as good as Portal? Are you insane? Heavenly Sword SUCKS.

And I see that you had the privellege of playing it on a PC. I plan on getting the Orange Box again for the PC so I can get the most out of TF2 and Portal :)

Of course, because all great games need sequels right?
And the facial movements are called "emotions". Maybe you're too caught up in games where the characters use emotions according to what is acceptable at this time, but not too long ago, there was a time where you could express yourself through your face. You know, what Heavenly Sword is kinda doing :|
Also, if you could read my comment to another person before, I was counter-posting to each of your points. The Portal part has to do with how short it is. Portal is a great game, agreed, but if you based it on the "OMG IT'S SHORT, SO IT SUX!!!" logic, then the main story levels for Portal must suck for you too according to your shorter = sucks logic.

Stop trying to twist my words. I never said HS sucks because it's short. I gave several reasons why I didn't like it. You don't have to agree with me. It's my opinion and you won't change it.
Also, you comparing HS to Portal is incredibly stupid. Portal wasn't sold by itself as a full priced game. It was packed in with four other games that more than justified the full price tag by themselves.
Another way of looking at HS not having a sequel is maybe they are working on sorting a story which will lead into a sequel. However if you think that HS is dire then let me point you to a little game called Haze.
In my honest point of view playing Haze actually makes Rise of the Robots and ET on the Atari 2700 look like master pieces. The game play played like a below standard FPS, the story was shockingly poor (solider being brought in to fight a war which ends up being the people who you was working for are the bad guys and you go and join the people you brutally murdered) voice acting was very very bad, characters that you couldn't give two s**t's if they died or you unloaded a clip into them on purpose.
In whole you can say what ever about other games, for me this generation and until i actually pass on Haze is going down as the worse game ever created.

So after insulting it, you just add without any intent of insulting it further "Oh yeah. How could I forget the fact it's only 5-6 hours long."? You made it sound like a negative, and there's no denying that :|
I'm only comparing the lengths. I'm saying that the length of the game doesn't matter, completely overthrowing anything but the lengths that binds the games together, but according to you, it does seem to matter.
The price doesn't make or break how good a game is in my opinion :|Overall to me, Portal and Heavenly Sword are two great, short games.
Now I'm willing to let this go as a "opinion thing", but you called me stupid, so I'm willing to go furthere with this :P

1. Sounded like I was insulting it did it? Sounded like a negative? Well you're right. I was insulting it and it was intended as a negative. I can say those things about HS if I want. Have you forgot the point of this thread. "Worst games and reasons you don't like them". If you can't handle other peoples opinions you shouldn't have came into the topic.
2. Length of a game might not matter to you but it matters to me. 5-6 hours for a game that cost me £45 is a big negative IMO.
3. I never said the price makes or breaks a game. I'm glad you liked Heavenly Sword. I hated it, though.

Portal is only $15, or basicly 1/5th the price of orange box on PS3(whatever the price is now) so that comparison doe's not really fit.
I disagree with most his point's, Heavenly Sword had a decent story(nothing special but good enough for the action genre), the combat was very good IMO, to play HS effectively and stylishly you had to learn the combo's and make you button presses in time with the animations(no button mashing).
The weapons where fine but not too original, voice acting/sound and cut scenes were amazing, excellent characters, it had a fixed cinematic camera angle like the majority of action/adventure games which worked fine.
But i agree it was too short for a full price high budget game, the projectile set pieces were boring after doing it once and the boss battles were pretty crap IMO, they were completely scripted like old school 8-16 bit games once you learned the bosse's movements it was a case of just repeating the same actions untill they were dead, in this day and age they should have been better.
Overall it was a decent game but could have been allot better, a sequel could have been great since most devs learn from there mistakes.
On topic i would choose lair, it was simply terrible IMO even with the updated controls.

1. Yes, but I think I have the right to disagree in a mentally stimulating debate with you ;)
2. Well then, I'm willing to leave that up to opinion. I have tons of short games that I payed full price for, and love em (usually the older SNES games)
3. I felt that you infered that heavily when you were talking about the prices, but I'm willing to leave it at that.

Soldiers of FortuneDevourment423
1000% agree Soldier of fortune payback is the worst game and will be the worst game for the entire life span of the PS3
Worst game: Def Jam Icon... play it and you will see why!
Best Game: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots... play it and you will see why!

No offence but perhaps, you should have rented it first? And how can you hate a game with so much passion and then spend so much money on it without knowing what you were getting yourself into? I find that irrefutable.

See, I liked how Motorstorm played but I felt like I was playing the same track over and over again. If they had one or two desert levels, one or two jungle levels, a snowy level or two, a city level or two, etc. it would've been a phenomenal arcade racer. As it stands, I paid $20 for the game and felt ripped off enough to resell it.
Looks like they're making the same mistake again with Pacific Rift too... one game, one track and a bunch of uninteresting vehicles.
