Worth Installing Linux on Ps3?

is it worth installing the Linux yellow Dog distro on the ps3? I just would like the opinions that are out there. I am tempted to install it because of firefox which its browser is way better than the ps3 browser. your thoughts? if i put this in the wrong subject i do apologize.

What you have to understand is that linux is by default a very slow operating system, and getting it to work is a pain in the butt. However, you can tweak it to make it run faster. I have YDL 6.1 on my ps3 and am currently typing this message through it. I enjoy it. I have it working very well. There are also ways of unlocking the ps3's gpu via terminal. It's a lot of effort, but in the end I rather enjoy the fact that I have a working computer on my playstation. Adds a lot to it.

I want to get adobe flash player on my system since I lack a computer at the moment, I saw Linux was an option when dowloading adobe, but since it's getting some negative feedback I'll take another route.

You know there's a button on the XMB that says "Install Other OS" right? OS means Operating System (aka Linux) and therefore it's nothing that Sony didn't intend for PS3 owners to do. They also made upgrading the hard drive incredibly easy too. I upgraded my hard drive to 500GB and didn't have any problems with the installation.

On a side note my new hard drive did fail after 3 weeks and I returned it to Newegg for a new one :P but that's not really anybody's fault. Just bad luck.

Don't bother it's so dam slow.
