Would games that freeze at times mess up my ps3

WhenI play fallout 3 game of the year edition it sometimes freezes when playing the add ons, It doesnt happen all the time just once in a while, also itlags a bit attimes. When it freezes i press thebutton on frontof the ps3 until thelight goes red and then turn it back on.I just really want to know if this can lead to myps3 messing up and not working anymore.

I don't believe so, freezing happens. But it is usually the cause of the game and not the system itself.
