I personally think 10 bucks is too much for BO. (My inner CoD basher talking, XD) I mean if you get a deal on it that's 25$ and under, I think it'd be worth it.
definitely get it cheap, i like this multiplayer a lot more than MW2 (cause no akimbo shotguns, and no Nuke), i still find the multiplayer fun to play despite what all the COD haters say
i'd say not. if it follows the same pattern as it's predecessor, black ops multiplayer will pretty much die as everyone quickly switches over to the newest iteration. furthermore, multiplayer is real sketchy. Awful hit detection, broken melee, extremely unpredictable weapon damages (one shot hip fire leg kills? Three sniper rifle neck/head shots no kill? 10 chest/upper shots to be spray&pray killed in a max of 2 shots, etc). That last example normally coincides with bad hit detection as well. All the connection problems from MW2? Guess what.... they make a reappearance in black ops. If you can get it really cheap, maybe check it out. wager matches are fun
Not really, cuz in a couple of months everybody in your friends list will be playing MW3. There are more reasons, but I dont feel like listing them, but I dont see many good reasons to get BO now
If you have a bunch of friends who have that game and if that's mostly all of what they play then and you want to be able to play with them, then yeah it probably is worth getting for you friends, but don't be surprised if you find you don't like the game.
For solidsingle player - yes. For crappy hacker-filled multiplayer - no.

Hacker-filled? That's an exaggeration if I've ever seen one. I have yet to come across a hacker at all in Black Ops.

I've also never run into a hacker in Ops. @TC: I saw it for full price ($60) at WalMart, but you get the First Strike map pack for free. MW3 doesn't release until Nov. 8th... that's five months almost to the day. I think you can your fill of Black Ops in that amount of time. But, I do expect to see a small price drop soon. MW2 is still $40 - $50 most places. You can find it cheaper online of course.

I've prestiged about 4 times. And yes, no hackers so to speak of. COD4 is a different story, but Black Ops from my experience is pretty much hacker free.
