Would you buy a game just for the music?

what i mean buy this is say if your favourite composer, artist, band whatever made the soundtrack to a a game would you buy it, (lets say the game gets an 83 on metacritic so its decent).

What band would buy a game for?

no i didn't mean a music game say like a normal run of the mill game (maybe even slightly innovative)that had managed to obtain your interest for some reason, and then its is announced that this game's soundtrack is being made by your favourite band, its that kind of scenario of which i am talking about.

cause i remember reading on kotaku that the tron 2 movie's soundtrack is bieng made by daft punk, which caused me immediatley tp put that movie on the top of my list, it also inpired me to create a list of movies to watch...

but yes say, there was a game with lots of techonological themes in it and then your favourite electro group made the soundtrack, would the group's influence on the game facto in your decision into buying the game.

I wonder if anyone bought 50 Cent Blood in the Sand for just the music. Not sure if I would buy it for the music but it is a bonus. Soundtrack for SSX 3 was great.

If I liked a game's soundtrack that much, I'd just buy it if I could, or hunt down MP3s on the net if I couldn't. If all else fails, I'd make a crappy version of said track with my phone's sound recorder, but to buy a game I might not like just because, say, Yoko Kanno or Nobuo Uematsu is making the music for it? Probably not.

I would buy a game built around having an Oingo Boingo soundtrack. A They Might Be Giants soundtrack could be pretty cool too.

I bought Afro Samurai in part becuase the soundtrack is done by RZA of the Wu Tang Clan. The music wasn't my sole reason for getting the game though. I really liked the anime, and it's a fun game especially with the music during battles.

I bought 2 Kingdom Hearts game because Utada Hikaru did both opening songs.

So I guess yes. I do buy games just for the music sometimes.
