Well if it was a brand new one i'd bought and it had dead pixels I'd return it and get a different one, because if it was brand new it shouldn't have dead pixels. But if it's a used PSP then I'd probably keep it, they don't bother me that much.
From day one my brand new PSP Slim had a dead pixel, but I just kept it because it wasn't worth the hassle to go back to the store and replace it for one measly pixel. It wasn't even that noticable, you would only see it if the screen was a certain color or if you were looking for it.
The question you need to ask yourself is......does the dead pixel annoy me?.....if the answer is YES then take it back and replace it....if the answer is NO then its probably not worth the hassel.
i have done it. dead/stuck pixels bother me alot, luckely i have been fortunate enough to not have them that often. i would never buy another silver slim cuz that was the psp that gave me the most problems between the faceplate cracking, dead pixels, and the shoulder buttons cracking and i have never ever dropped, smashed, sat on, or done anything to cause physical harm to my psp and the silver slim just kept on breaking... my original psps were always fine, and my black slim still to this day is in top notch condition.
if it was brand new or within 30 days, i would probably first try to exchange it. if the store said no i would contact sony. I would not tollerate dead pixels (but my psp is in mint condition still pretty much)
I think every manufacturer has a dead pixel tolerance. Like you need more that x amount for sony to take it back. Not that the store wouldn't for customer service sake but you never know.
