Well, the first time I played CoD 4's singleplayer, I thought nothing of it. But then I played it again the past weekend and was like "Holy crap this game is good!". Take the part where the nuke explodes and you wake up in the helicopter, I would say that is definately one of the best game experiences i've ever had. Even though it only lasted a minute or so, it was really immersive and realistic. Also, the ending was absolutely AMAZING. SO emotional! I'll admit, I came close to shedding a tear it was so good.

Just wanted to say this. :D

Where have you been, when COD4 came out it was the first true next gen game that ran great on the ps3.

It still blows almost all fps's out of the water and continues too with each new release since.

Every fps shooter I play now, i cringe.

Far Cry2 will change that!!!

If the game is truly realistic, you'd be dead and never wake up in the helicopter. Can't believe how many games/movie shows downplay the power of a nuke bomb. In almost every freaking game/movie where there's a nuke goes off, the main character always survives no matter where they are.

I liked what I played of it, but I never finished it because whenever I put the game in, I drift over to the MULTIPLAYER option. But the SP had good dialogue, decent story, lots of action (duh)... I really liked it. I was playing on Veteran though, so it was taking me a while. Maybe I'll finish it this weekend or something.

Yeah, the single player was awesome, the shootouts were intense and the environments were really well done. After the first mission where the tanker is going down, I knew this was gonna be good.

On the harder skills levels the game is awesome - although like most PS3 games longevity is an issue

It's an overrated game, great storyline, but criminally short.

Yes I've always said the SP was awesome aswell. And at the end with Capt. dieing and slides that pistol over was epic :) Yes it was short but also short enough to jump back in some other time to complete it again. And for a game like cod4 and its sp play that is pretty cool to do. Short story mode, alot of action and some intense moments and some great adventure thrills with different missions around the world makes it perfect for multiple play throughs.

And also I thought the animations of your fellow soldiers is what made it feel real, much less the missions that made you feel as though you were actually on a mission in the field.

P.S. You know the sniper mission, the dude told me I was looking at the wrong part of the church for the enemy and thats when I said "Wow" lol.

I never got past the stage where you drop bombs on the city with the church using nightvision or infared, and I've had the game since day 1. I got so caught up in online I never played single player. So I still get to look foward to beating it one day.

I thought the single player was rather poor. I only enjoyed one mission.

If a FPS was truly realistic, you would be dead after one gunshot instead of surviving a rain of bullets. Just a game.

Though I played it on the 360, I do agree. CoD4's campaign is fantastic. Even now I almost regret having traded it back in, but seeing as I 1000 pointed it on the 360 (and didn't have Live GOLD), I didn't have much reason to keep it afterward.

The programming and over all layout was horrible. It's almost like they want you to get the PC version if you want an actual stable multiplayer mode. The online mode is on par with something EA would rush.

Same here. Some of the levels were mind-blowing. My favorite was the level where you and the squad start off on that freeway/highway and you have to go into the rundown building with nightvision goggles. I was like, WOW...
