Wow I'm seeing a huge trend of ppl that just bought new PS3's for the first time

I meant it in a good way. I love that piece of harware. Just look at the faces of ppl who see it for the first time. Its Huge, glossy and looks ultra modern.

yeah with the amount of heat it generates you can literally use it as a heater during winter

with that much heat coming off its amazing how quietly it runs

Holy Crap.. if it's said to be that good i really wanna get one.. but theres a few things im worrying about here... i read a bunch of threads and i noticed alot of people were having problems with their ps3's and i was kind of concerned about that,and also i heard that some unknown company filed a law suit or something because sony took some patent or whatever, and im worried if its true that sony will have to destroy all ps3's... i know their a well-known and wealthy company and they'll probably win the case but you never know...jradc2551

1) problems are rather few and far a part, in general, with one exception. Some people are having trouble getting it to connect with the wireless, while others experience problems with the "remote play" option outside of home. However, those are widely covered, and if you bought one and experienced this, there are many people that could help.

2)I wouldn't worry about the lawsuit. It appears to be mostly frivolous, as they have been rather vague in their complaint, they are suing (sort of) the wrong people, and, frankly, some small company doesn't stand a chance against Sony's armada of high-priced lawyers. They could never have all PS3s detroyed.

I'm seeing that the PS3 is a very reliable system (compared to others.) And if you do have a problem..Sony's customer service is real good. Not to mention FAST.

I wouldn't worry too much about that lawsuit. I highly doubt that Sony's going to end up destroying all of their PS3's. My fingers are crossed though. Just in case...

After they get rid of the emotion engine and goto software for backwards compatabiltiy, do you think the PS3 will still be able to run the 3 Ratchet & Clank games, the 4 onimusha games, the 2 god of wars, MGS1,2,3, and RE4?????? Cause I really want to play those again because right now My ps2 broke and I only have a 360 right now and Im saving up for a PS3 so I dont want to buy a new PS2.acidic_dude

I'd imagine so. Those are some pretty big name titles you mentioned there (encorporating some of their biggest mascots). It would be downright stupid to not allow backwards compatability not to mention a PR nightmare (especially GoW1+2).

I got mine just last week and was anxiously awaiting Lair, only to find out it was delayed last week. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until Warhawk comes out now, although I have had a great time with the Heavenly Sword demo.
