WoW Possibley Coming To The PS3

I guess blizzard and sony have been talking and WoW could be coming to the PS3.

I have it for my PC but had videocard problems but if it came to the PS3 i would certaintley get it.

Exactly i think thats possibley why sony may be doing it.

This wouldn't have any real impact on me whether or not it's true, but it seems like sort of a waste. All the effort/time/$ that they (Blizzard) and Sony are wasting on it could be spent on other NEW games. It's quite obvious that anyone that is really interested in WoW is among the 9 million + already playing it on PC. Very few would make the switch to PS3 when they already have the largest gaming community in the world.

I agree with both of you!, I hate WOW with a passion!

I seriously doubt it will come to the PS3. Blizzard has taken a stance of not wanting to release it on consoles so far, and I doubt they'll change soon. Are there any other sites reporting this? I haven't seen any.

I don't quite buy the excuse of players having to buy a keyboard, though. Players have shown they'll buy a peripheral specifically for one game before. Guitar Hero proves that. Besides, Blizzard could package a keyboard with the game, if nothing else. But, unless a supposed console version had its own servers, they'd be at a distinct disadvantage, I'm guessing. Clickers in pvp tend to get beaten pretty handily. I can't imagine trying ot keep up with a controller, even if you used the keyboard along with it.

There's also the matter of mods. Some of the more useful ones do eventually get picked up by Blizzard and added to the game, but a lot of them aren't. Many of those are used heavily enough that Blizzard builds encounters around them. Big Wigs/Deadly Boss Mods and threat meters, in particular. PS3 users would need to get a hold of those, too. Supposedly, a threat meter might be added in WOTLK, but not any sort of boss mods, as far as I know.

it doesnt make much sense.

1. wow will run on a very bad pc very well. i had wow on a piece of junk 5 year old pc with 512mb ram and i never had lag or anything and could have a lot of the graphic options up high (still didnt look great)

2. wow doesnt look good they would need to update the graphics and everything like that.

3. wow needs a mouse and keyboard, i know ps3 supports it but instead of paying 400 for a ps3 to play wow u can get a laptop for 200 that will run wow perfectly. it needs controller support to work with the ps3

4. wow is popular but it isnt going to attract many people unless u can play as ur character u made on the pc which isnt gonna happen. u willlooose clan servers and character so it wont work like that.

there are many other reasons why wow on the ps3 is pointless.

now i would buy this if u could keep characters you made on the pc. if monthly fees were cheap. if the game had controller support (with rumble), i have a laptop with wow i dont need a ps3 version that does the exact same thing. it has to have trophies. i would definetly buy it if it had offline mode. u could level up your character without having to pay to play online

now if blizzard want it to be a hit which it could be they need to make the game like oblivion so we can use our controllers (except have your character run properly, u could run forwards in oblivion but move sideways)

anyway i highly doubt it will happen unless they are willing to fix the many problems it would have main 1 being the controlers.

Then again, there's this World of Warcraft GH3 Song in the PS3 store, so there's got to be some sort of connection. I'd rather have a Diablo 3 on PS3 though.

I'm curious, as well. How many have played it and don't like it versus those mindlessly parroting bashes of the game.

As you can see from my sig, I play it way too much. :p That's not even all of my playtime. I went several months without running Xfire while playing.

i had like around a lvl 30 dwarf warrior, then went on vacation, forgot to pay internet bill, internet was turned off, didnt play it anymore, now since im older and more responsible and can actually pay my bills id give it another go

WoW was ruined by the constant barrage of mouthy, annoying people that spent every waking hour raiding for gear then shouting at other people who didn't have it.

It was a great concept for a game but was sadly ruined by the hardcore players.

It's good news, but yet it might kill the current PS3 community & and replace them with WOW players! Nooooo!!!!

Wait, some of my friends are WOW players......my bad.

It would be cool if it does. It's possible since the PS3 is and open network and the PS3 supports keyboard/mouse support. I would accept it if it did and wouldn't mind it's a good game regardless of if you think it's for nerds or lames because of the fact that it looks cartoony.
