Now I know that most of you want to kick me in the head for asking these questions because we've talked and whined about them so many time. Questions like "Why does'nt the PS3 play PS2 game anymore","Why the mess with importing files off a drive". I don't know the answer to a lot of questions about the ps3 because i'm new to it. I've been playing the 360 since it came out. I'm not saying it's bad. Maybe I'm wrong and the the ps3 is far more supierior, but thats why I want your input. I wanna hear what beef other people might have with the system. That or if I should just shut up and play.
Luckily my ps3 plays ps2 game. You know I hate it when people complain ps3 isn't bc anymore. You know why that happened? Its because no one bought the bc ps3 so sony to had to cut costs and features to sell a ps3 for a cheaper price. You get what you pay for.
Ya. I've been having a little problem with DL time also. Some games I get, for some reason, take 2 hours to download content or somthing. I'm not even sure what i'm downloading. For example Heavy Rain took forever to download but Metal Gear Solid was 8 min. ????

I felt the exact same way as you when I first got my PS3. I got one only because I was feed up with the RRoD, and right when I got my last one (it was out of warranty) I just happend to have some extra cash. I did't like it at first compared to the 360, but after I played both Uncharted's I stopped missing it. Ever since I've been playing most of the PS3's exclusives I've been missing out on. Without being a fanboy I truly beleive that PS3>360 after experiancing both of them. I only miss not playing Mass Effect 2 and I really don't even like Halo all that much.
And the best part is I got a Slim and have never had a single problem besides it freezing every once in a great while. And between everyone in my house my PS3 is on, probably about 4-8 hours a day on average. Lol, I guess the 360 just could't handle the hardcoreness:P
haha im lucky mine still plays ps2 games. but i really dont care about BC. u can get a ps2 for under $30. (atleast were im from)

true and mine is BC also. some people just dont want to HAVE to have the other system to play PS2 games. it should be and option not a necessity, but then again its not my call...

the hell are you talking about? the bc ps3 sold well, its just that the price drop made the PS3 sell even better AND it was cheaper to manufacture. you were halfway right, the cut the features to save money but it wasnt because it wasnt selling. it was selling just fine before the change, it just sold more when the price dropped..

Well when you have to meet a certain for a company "selling fine" isnt good enough, It has to "sell well" to get its backup on third party companies, What sony did was cut out the BC and those worthless mem car slots to make it cheaper to manufacture, so that they COULD drop the price and still profit. And now that its more affordable, it can sell and its fan base can flourish.
if BC is that important to people they wouldve bought the PS3 three years ago and not in the last year or 2 and the price tag wouldnt be an issue sorry...but honestly if you can get passed that the ps3 is great annd the folder thing is not a huge deal either i didnt even know that was an issue

Be able to play PS2 games and also eventually be able to purchase PS2 games via PSN. PS2 has too rich of a library for the PS3 to refuse to take advantage of.
Just more old school/arcade games...Where is my battletoads, paper boy, kid ikarus, Metroid, bases loaded,,,,,SOE came out with rampart, q-bert, mk2 ans just dissapeared?????Anyone know where they went...?
I suppose, I agree. Even though I don't care for the idea of having two system to play PS2 and PS3, If I was there CEO of Sony I would do the same. In this economy a system that runs $400 isn't logical. Now take that system and cut out one feature on it and cut the price almost in half....well. You'll be seeing a better 4th gen system. Goodbye BC PS3. RIP

Kid Icarus and Metroid are both Nintendo IPs so no chance. Battletoads would be nice to see but was such a frustrating game.
There does seem to be the makings of a pseudo-old school renaissance though; Mega Man 10 is coming out this month, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 in the summer (plus if you want to count NSMBW for Wii). There's still a market for these homage games.
