from gamepro mag

here's what cell does in heavenly sword, BTW cell does a lot but im only going to type up what it does with AI.

 Artificial intelligence

"to keep up with the hundreds of on-screen enemies, Cell treats distant armies as a singular "hive mind." As they approach nariko, Cell splits their intelligence accross squads, and finnally, individual troops "

with NGS, GOWIII, DMC4, and Now HS ps3 will be the place for some kickass action games

im always happy to see an MGS fan. ive got all the games, even the non games lol. comic books you name (except for action figures lol)

kojima has always been know for awsome AI, not like in splinter cell where you just have to wait for the NPCs to turn and give you their back.

Also from gamepro: "The PS3's Cell processor has the downside of being tricky to work with, but will give developers the long-term flexibility they need to pull off radical effects like widespread environment deformation, pixel-perfect ragdoll physics, and massive-scale particle effects without so much as a hitch in the frame rate. Harnessed properly, there's no doubt that Cell is a processing monster."

the capabilities of the cell is why i got a ps3, because i was enjoying my 360 just fine(still doing so), i believe the cell will be the reason exclusive games on the ps3 will be better than those on the 360, that and the blu ray disc space. i know alot can be done without the cell and bluray(360 games are prove of that) but i just love the potential the ps3 is bringing

Definitely, the Cell is amazing. One can only now wonder how long till devs fully understand how to use its power produce what its capable of and I think by next year everyone will see a glimpse of that

it truly is the japenese game makers will come out with the full power of the CELL behind them. since most of the japs are less lazy than the americans. even Itagatiki( maker of ninja gaiden and DOA) says its not that hard to develop for.

lol. but you can't deny the fact that the games are still good, compare to american devs who makes the same games over and over but only with a decay in quality.

lol. If you mean remaking NG twice I see what your saying, but each remake is justified and enjoyable.  Now if you mean Kojima with MGS, or Square with FF, or Nintendo with Zelda and take that as lazyness Id have to say your wrong.  Every new entry in those games is a reinvisioning of the franchise and truly feels like a new game.

When I play games like SC, or Halo hell even the GTA3 trilogy on I feel more like im playing expansions of the first game.  Japanese developers just seem like they care a little more, or just pay more attention to detail.  Its true that all good franchises start milking sequals, but if theyre done right and feel like a new experience I dont see anything wrong with it.

I agree with this statement. And yes it is a only a matter of time until the devs really start to tap into the PS3's power.

the xbox 360 may have a little edge in its gpu but the thing that makes the ps3 a monster in its own right is that cell makes up for the lack of its gpu and also adds physics and alot of other things to the table. The PS3 also adds alot more horse power when compared to the xbox 360 cpu, also adding more media storage with bluray vs dvd which is why I own both systems. Yes the xbox 360 does have more games for it now but as I explained earlyer why I purchased my PS3 aswell is because of what the system has to offer to devs with future titles once devs learn there way around using the cell and the ps3 hardware, I look for ps3 games to be alot more impressive in every phase compared to the xbox 360. What do u guys think?

yeah i read this. its so amazing. also the game uncharted: drake's fortune when u go and hide for cover  and poke out to shoot when he goes back for cover its always a different position, they estimated that  the main character will have around 3,000 animations to his name.so think about when games learn how to use the ps3 to its full potential

Yeah I saw a pic of twelve different poses of him taking cover.  I hope they do something similar in MGS4 but regardless Kojima will not dissapoint.
