i deleted a memory card that i need its basically has all my current data on it. but i back-up all my on a memory stick, so i went to back up utility restore data, and now its jus a blank screen, the power on, im to scared to turn it off it might or not finish restoring, jus break to whole machine and i cant afford 4 that to happen
I don't think you did what you thought you were doing. From what I understand you deleted a MC, a PS1/2 MC right? You backed it up on a memory stick put that in and hit restore data under backup utility. You should have just went to MC manager and went on your MS and copied the data.
The screen has only ever gone blank (black) on me once. And that was because the video cable (forgot the actual name) was slightly unplugged. Check that. Maybe you accidently bumped into it or something.

check to see if the orange HDD light is flashing on the front of the console. If that is not flashing or on, then I don't believe it will harm your system if you shut it down. Â
Also remember that PS3s come with a one year warranty so if you do have a problem, call Sony and they'll ask you to send it in and ship you another one.Â
ok that means that is IS doing someting i would let is set for like 30 min then C what happens. if it is still like that then i would call sony and ask for help.Â
