i turned my ps3 on and when i try to sign in, it says a new update is required would you like to download it now, so i click ok, it searches for it and comes up with system software version 2.53 wich is obviously correct, i click ok again and the ps3 searches for the downlodable update, the update comes back saying version 1.2 update!!!!!?????? then all the licence agreement and stuff, but its version 1.2, wherehave i gone wrong, or am i the only one that gets this, ive tryed 5 times doing the same thing like searching for 2.53 on system update, everything is ok untill the actuall update comes back saying version 1.2, wtf!!!!, help me please!!!!

LMAO!!! WHAT?! You shouldn't be able to go backwards in updates. I would call Sony before installing. Yeah - that's a bizzare problem and you are the only one I have heard of experiencing it. i agree with Ami29 - I would call SONY to make sure everything is alright, it's better than messing up your system.

How about you try this - remove the game from the console so there are no game updates attempted. Update the system to 2.53 and after it restarts put the game back in and do the game update seperately.
i took the disc out and performed system update again but same thing and plus the update version 1.2 says its for the system and the date on it is june 18 2008 lol any more suggestions thanks

LOL - so it's the EULA that is version 1.2? LMAO - that's fantastic man, you will have a smile on my face the rest of the night, but hey ya know what... A mistake like that is the easiest one to overcoome. :) Have fun playing Fifa once the update is done.
