WTF just happened to my PS3???

Okay, so I pressed the PS button on the controller to turn my PS3 on. Like always. And then it made a beep sound, and then the next thing I know, my console has no power. No lights. Nothing. I look at the power cord and it's connected to the wall outlet.


So I'm very confused by this point and I unplugged the power cord and the cables and then put it back in, and it was able to turn on. Sooo what happened??? Why wasn't my PS3 able to turn on when I pressed the PS button on the controller? I heard the beep sound, which indicates that the system is turned on. But then I looked at the TV and nothing was there. So I looked back at the console and all the power was gone.


Anyone have any ideas on what happened? My system works fine now. But the way it just shut off by itself is bothering me.

that actually happen to me also.. i pressed the PS button on the controller and my PS3 didnt even turn on, just the controller itself. never happened again after that though. weird.LP4EVA2005

maybe the power supply went out on ur ps3 or try to plug ur ps3 in a differnet outlet to see if it will work if not then the power probably just completely died on ur syst

some other guy posted the same thing about his 60gig. his DIED though. maybe its reaching the end of its life?

Well, my 160GB will NEVER die!!! I just got it a week ago too. So it wouldn't make any sense for it to die now...lol.

It's the millenium bug... 10 years late.. :-) lol Sorry to hear dude.

test your wall out let or surge protector by pluging in something else. if that shows that the out let is ok then most likely you eather have a bad power cord or your ps3's power supply ect has died.
