im sorry if this has been asked before, but why is it that nearly every new co-op game for the ps3 that goes into split-screen will not exactly split the screen in half. There is always some space where there is no video or anything there (sorry for the terrible explanation). 3 examples: Resistance 2, CoD: WaW, and RE5. All three of those games whenever u play co-op the "split-screens" do not occupy the space of the entire TV. It just really bothers me and I don't understand why that is necessary for almost every game.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's like two squares that occupy the top left and bottom right of the screen. annoying as hell. just make it horizontal

I honestly don't know but, would it have anything to do with screen resolution? Maybe try a zoom feature if your TV supports it.

its because if the picture filled those spaces it would mess with the picture...make it look stretched.
