I had no problems wat so ever, but STUPID GTA 4 currupted my PS3!!! First thing I did was got rid of the son of a ****, and send in my system to sony. luckily i got it a new one now.
Games I own: Resistance, MotorStorm, COD4, and Warhawk.
so ps3s are pritty much good and no randomly dieing on people

There are some very light reports of "the yellow light of death" but it only effects something like .25% of PS3's. The turn around time is 2 weeks if you send your system off to Sony. So you can read that as the PS3 has no issue. Mine was in Iraq with me for 8 months in the summer (130 degrees F and tons of sand and crap). Looks like hell but runs like a champ! Had it since November of 2006.
im not here for an english lesson!

English is not my strong point, but that kid is sad. Just hit spellcheck. I resent being called a tool. They are a substandard band with songs that are way too convoluted and long. Be nice now I know your secret.just shhh and chat about games this spelling issue is rather borin ....... u seem a lil sad if your looking up my spellingstephen_360
It's that bad no one needs to look it up. The third orange button at the bottom. Yeah the one with Check Spelling. Go get acquainted with it. You could use a friend like that.

Dyslexia is a learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written language, particularly with reading and spelling. It is separate and distinct from reading difficulties resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or from poor or inadequate reading instruction.[1] Evidence also suggests that dyslexia results from differences in how the brain processes written and/or spoken language. Although dyslexia is the result of a neurological difference, it is not an intellectual disability.
BS you are just too lazy to hit spellcheck. My whole family is dyslexic so I am quite familair with it. Next time you self diagnose yourself pick a better disorder and learn how to spell it.
By who a veterinarian? ( no that is not some one who fought in a war ) You are still full of BS. Prove it. There are two classic types of dyslexia which one do you have? You see I did not cut and paste that whole article. Now prove it.i have been dignosed u ideot
now go away!

unless you seriously neglect your system like I've heard of some people doing before, it doesn't randomly die on you. I've had mine for a while and its still running good. :)IntegraBella
You are wrong, I have TWO PS3 60GB (one from launch the other from July 07) and I take very good care of them and in the oldest one the Bluray Drive died it could not read any discs, but in 3 days Sony exchange it for me.

thats been a problem sony has always had slight troubles with (disc read errors) starting from the first batch of ps2's. Happened to me too =( but it's very rare so not much of an epidemic or anything.I also own 2 PS3's and never had a problem with either. The only Sony product problem I ever had was my launch day PS2. It stopped reading DVDs after 2 weeks. Sony was real good though and gave me a brand new one. Unfortunately in the process some kid got screwed out of his pre purchase. I felt a little bad, but hey I was there first.

That's the truth, Sony should pay him a nice sum of money for that story.

i know several dyslexic individuals and each of them misspell words for their own benefit. i had a gf with dyslexia and she had a terrible time with "th" so she used "dem" instead of them for example. she did this even in college and her professors understood.
not that any of this matters. if this guy has dyslexia or not, arguing over it is a lil pointless.

He does not have it. Knowing several dyslexic people you should have been offended that he is pretending. Like I said my whole family has it and I watched them struggle with it for many years. So I find it offensive that this little 360 troll comes here and blames is own ignorance on a disorder that affects a lot of people and people that I care about. Did you get any of this from high up on your pulpit?Well it's important to spell well. like that people can see you are well spoken and they take you more seriously.if ya talk liek dis da peeple think ya are a stoopid hick wid no inteligunce. especially on the internet where people judge you all the time. Give them on less chance to criticize you! :D
To answer your question, there are no outstanding and notable hardware failures that warrant being worried about it. As long as you keep it ventilated, clean and not dusty, you shouldn't have any problems. the most common failure is the lens not working anymore but even then it's very rare.

Did you get any of this from high up on your pulpit?I have some medical problems and sometimes what I want to say doesn't always come out like it should and then some days everything is perfect (lately it's been much better with different medications). This is one of the main reasons I feel good about donating my PS3 to the F@H project when I'm not using it. I feel for anyone that struggles with life when they have some type of medical problem.

To answer your question, yes, they don't have any mass failure, and have a very low faliure rate about 2% chance. The only games that seem to be messing up is GTA4. I have never had a problem playing any of my games, my system has never died, and I've owned it for almost a year and a half.

So do I. That what makes me so mad when some troll comes in here spouting off ignorance. Especially with a disorder that I have seen my whole life and has deeply affected those I care about. Please Log In to post.
