yakuza 3 (japan release next year~ U.S. - hopefully, lol)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_NMCeGbF3U

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neI9nQeSOOc

it looks good...bigger, better, badder.

the ps2 yakuza series was underated here (U.S.) imo. i was lucky i was able to know and play this game. so when i saw the new trailer, i was like omg! its sick~ more action, more mini games, more hot girls lol. plus the story will be good like the other 2 yakuza series. i really like the main guy here. he's really bad ass~

anybody looking forward to this game? hopefully we will be able to see this game here in U.S., lol.

ps3 needs games like this since its slowly losing exclusive titles... ff13, tekken...

that's what i thought to at first when i bought the 1st yakuza game. it was cheap so i bought it. but when i played it, i was blown away by the story. its that good. plus its made by sega.

the story will surprise you. the first yakuza game has popular voice actors. wiki it. and you'll be surprise by the american voice actor. sadly, the game wasnt as successful as it was in japan~

This series is like 100 times better than grand theft boredom. You should post links to the gametrailers videos instead.Much better quality than crappy youtube.

Cool, you're prolly gonna enjoy it. Alot of people call it the Japanese gta but it's more like shenmue light. Less focus on talking to every single person. It's pretty immersive but not so much that you lose sense of what the heck is going on. Plus it focuses more on combat then shenmue.

lol, yeah. me, never gotten into the GTA games, i just dont like the sandbox gameplay... but when i played this game, i was like Wow! that's a good story. then the action is pretty brutal. the story was penned by a famous author in japan. the game's production was one of the most expensive sega has made(yakuza 1&2) in japan. the game was even adapted into a live action movie last year (directed by the one who made ichi the killer -- the movie was kinda disappointing).

first thing you will notice when you play the first yakuza game, "damn the story is good, they should make a movie based on this~" that's what i said to myself when i played it.

yakuza 2 just got released this year... and it was good to... GS gave a good rating to it. i just like the main guy, having a dragon tatoo at the back. one of the signs of being a real life yakuza in japan is having a lot of tatoo's on your body.

yakuza is like a japanese version of mafia and chinese triad.

that's why this game is sooo underrated, not much people have played it sadly. lol.

see the video where kazuma is fighting that guy with twin handguns, that was sick~

quote from wiki:

Sega announced that the budget for the game and its sequel together was 2.4 billion yen (21 million US dollars).

The saving graces of the movie imo were majima and the part when kiryu goes into heat mode at the end after drinking the drink from the game.

Haha, if anyone need convincing about yakuza 2, you fight 2 tigers. That's right....TIGERS!!

This game looks terribly amazing, i want to know if those are in-game graphics or just pre-rendered, did previows yakuza games use pre rendered graphics for cinemas?

yakuza 2 is even better, kazuma has a love interest which is a lady cop and is also known as a yakuza eater, and our hero also has a new rival and is also a "dragon" of he's rival clan. "dragon" is like the most strongest fighter in the yakuza... of sort. lol.

I think they did but it was done in such an artistic way that you didn't really notice when they did.

previous yakuza game has pre rendered background and cgi cutscenes... let's just say if your familiar with japanese culture and stuff, you will appreciate this game more. especially if your a fan of japanese action movies~ lol.

Yea, and it was really great. Took alot of things from one and improved it a bunch. The love story is really good too. This game has a very international tinge to it.

Yea, it's crazy no one is clamoring for these great exclusives from sega. That is why i'm trying to start a word of mouth campaign to tell everyone about valkyria chronicles and the yakuza series.

You bet I'm excited, after just finishing Yakuza 2 recently.

I even have a copy of Ryu ga Gotoku (the japanese title for the game): Kenzan, which is a Yakzua side story that was released a little while ago that takes place in the Tokugawa period of Japan, 1603-1868. Unforunately I'll have to struggle through the game in Japanese, but I'm sure it'll tide me over until Yakuza 3 hits our shores...

My japanese sucks, otherwise I would have bought kenzan. I hope yakuza 3 has an online mode! Or online coop. YAY!

I've always been intrigued by the look of these games, like the story. I'm definately gonna pick up 1 and 2 after Christmas if I can still find them around.

I'm incredibly disappointed with lack of news with Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan. The one and only Yakuza game I actually cared about due to the theme, which could've been my entrance game to the series because it could've been used to show me what kind of gameplay structure it has. Considering the sales of Yakuza games, I highly doubt people care about being a Yakuza. It might be popular theme in Japan, but it lacks world-wide appeal. Samurai actually has world-wide appeal. Heck, the game they neglect year after year (Shenmu) has world-wide appeal, with Hong Kong martial artist being main character. Year after year, Sega shows me they have bunch of monkeys running the company.
