YDL(Yellow Dog Linux) by far is the best running program for the ps3, but to me people dont seem to think so. The program has Fire fox installed on it along with other cool toys for geeks and nerds all a like. Why dont you people at least try it out and stop being so hard headed. Oh and dont say that most of you people wont to wait and get it once they have fixed a certain problem or bug on it because you are full of ****. They never had problems with it, and even if they did they would tell people that they are trying to fix it or that it will not run right. newb16I bought Yellow dog linux 5.0.1 for my PS3,but when installing it,had problems cos didn't realise you needed a mouse and keyboard to use?

Hey, I'm getting a PS3 for my bday and I'm going to either put Ubuntu or Yellow Dog on it, so is yellow dog truely good? I'm a computer science major currently and I want to get use to Linux still and I need a good version ofLinux with a good C compiler, so have you tested that at all? My dad wanted to get another desktop to test out Linux, but since it was the same price as a PS3 I suggested we get that instead since it has a blu ray player you know?

Its one of the best programs that can run on the PS3 by far. The thing is if you are use to using windows series than you better get use to using YDL cause once you use it you will be like MF!! wear is the internet!!! and you will start clicking on things.

Well I'm using ubuntu off and on and really like it so far, it just hates me and this laptop for some dumb reason :?
Honestly, Visual C++ Express works fine. I have the suite(Comp E Major) and I got a free copy of the whole Visual Studios from MS for free. candid_llama
I went to Clemson for my first semester and they wouldn't touch any microsoft C compilers period...they had some insane issues with microsoft there so I transfered to South Carolina, but i don't know what they're using since I only took their java class. However, I do know they're using Linux, just not sure if it's for C or not. This is more of an expirement thing you know? lol.
and dang it, why are the quotes messed up....I haven't been posting here much and forgot how to fix them :P.

No, you're thinking of XNA, which uses microsoft visual C or something like that, that program he's talking about is used for making any program using C++.
