Yellow light of death theory

Well my PS3 suffered from the YLOD just a couple of days ago so i did some research about it and found out the yellow light can also mean that the HDD is lose. so right now it just dawned me. maybe perhaps its not that my PS3 died on me or my HDD is lose. maybe my HDD burned out or something like that

so i was wondering if that is possible.

lol i didnt know that! I could have fixed my friends PS3 if i knew that... everyone i asked just told me its a dead ps3 and sony wanted him to send it in and get it fixed for $150. Funny how they try to trick u

YLOD is linked to an onboard component failure, for example i was able to power up a ps3 without a hard drive installed, so the chances of it being the hard drive are unlikely.

You could try unscrewing it and putting it back in but I doubt it will help.

well if its new to them thats what they will do until they figure out the problem.. i had it and if i knew that well i wouldnt have fix it cuz it was still under my warranty but i sure in hell would of done the easy part of it..

I heard it sometimes had to do with a hard drive error and that you could prolly just open the hard drive bay and lodge it back in. You should try that first since it doesn't void your warranty. I mean it wouldn't hurt to try it.
