So I picked up Orange Box for the 360 on Black Friday at target for $48, just in case the PS3 version was inferior. I waited to read some reviews and for my buddy to get the game to see if I would return it and buy the PS3 version, since all my online games are for my PS3. Well it looks like I won't be playing team fortress with my buddies thanks to yet again another crappy port and I refuse to pay for online for my 360....... This ticks me off that Valve did this and that EA thinks they can port garbage onto the system. Well I guess COD4 will stay my online game of choice now.

COD 4 is a much better game. I rented the orange boxfrom gamefly and was planning to use the keep it option becausethe trailers for TF2 looked great. Well nobody was playing it online and there was lag. This wasthe 360 version. I'd stick with COD 4.

The fact still remains the same even if it got 9. Lag, looong loading times, and very unstable frame-rates. Bad port.

The only reason it got 9 was because of 5 games in one deal. It's a excellent deal in that aspect, but it won't matter when you're frustrated to no end with frame rates issues.

Just a rent for me as I wish to see the story in EP2 and try portal out.

Hard to say, ask the xbox 360 forums.

In case you're not aware the game is ported very nicely for x360 system. Which means it can be done on PS3 as well.

You should ask EA development team why, and why you're at it ask Valve why it was approved for such a bad port release permission.

Why make any shooter for anything then PC. You have much to learn.

Guys, it's not that bad, my gosh. I bought it. I admit, I only played Portal and TF2, but Portal was flawless and I had ZERO framerate issues on TF2 once the game started. During the stupid little movie thing is stuttered once or twice, but once I was online, and there were A LOT of people online, they was not a prob at all. That alone makes it worth it to me. As long as ANY of the HL series is playable, it's worth it. Did the other box get a better version, probably, but our is 100% playable, especially TF2.

Also, you are right, CoD4 and UTIII kick it's ass, but it's different, so that's why it another nice piece to add to a online gaming collection.

LOL...Valve doesn't have to do anythign they don't want..they are Valve. If they don't like the ps3 architecture(can't blame them) that's their choice..

I enjoy Half-Life, and I'm confident Valve is a great quality company.

Their mistake was porting Orange Box with EA.

There is no need to make a mediocre port if you can't make a good game. Why should I settle for half-finished and unpolished product? Because it has 5 games? It' quality, not quantity. The job was well done on X360 and I'm glad for the players. I don't expect anything less for PS3 product, alas a bad port once again.

I bought Heavenly Sword because it's a Epic game with Great story and I enjoyed it while most folks would rather rent it.

Most developer love to make bad ports and then except profit from it. I blame both EA and Valve for PS3 Orange Box. EA for development and Valve for poor management decisions.

Rent for me, nothing more, nothing less. I don't support half-a** products.

The game is story driven, if you don't care for story driven gameplay and are just in it for killing, action, etc, then The Orange Box is NOT for you.

If you do care for story, then it's too good of a deal to pass up.

I couldnt belive you, but now i checked gamespot and yeah they gave the Ps3 version a 9! WTF? I thought they were going to rape off us on this one. Is something wrong with gamespot?

That in a nutshell says it all. No need to miss out on it (although it wasn't that great IMO), just pick it up for PC...used.:D

What did you all expect? This is EA we are talking about. There's no reason to really complain if you continue to buy their mediocre products. They won't listen to you. I wholeheartedly agree.

Honestly so far, I've had more framerate drops and lag (connection errors) in UT3 than in Orange Box. I've only played HL2 and TF2 but it is not unplayable by any means. Still an awesome collection. Many other parts of the box have issues like ep2 but i haven't gotten there yet.

Do you remember that EA idiot from E32005 Sony press conference who proudly announced that EA is going to support the PS3 a 100%... ...Sony could start a lawsuit against him because of not delivering promised services. Really, I don't see any reason why not. EA said thay are going to fully support PS3 and now... kazuya_m

I got the game this morning. So far, yes the frame rate has dipped on me noticably on portal (which is an awsome game). Yes it can get annoying at times but damnit it's still a cool game and I've liked it so far. I recomend that if you want it, get it or rent it (it is very playable) but if you're still pissed at the fact that EA put PS3 on the back burner for ports (and I don't blame you if you are) you can pass and still be happy with another game.

Off course, the best way to find out is for you to play yourself so you don't have to take my word for it.

I can't imagine that the framerate issues are that bad. Gamespot is very critical about these things, and it got a 9.0. I know that people are still upset with EA's work on the PS3, but all they did is port it to blu-ray, which probably isn't that easy of a task. Honestly, how bad can it be?

I'm still getting it, mainly for the HalfLife 2Series. I don't thinkI'll be playing too much of TF2.

Heres a tip for developers wanting to have a "gamespot 9.0" blurb on their games, jam 5 buggy games with a little innovation and half decent story into one package and palm it off to PS3 users because hey they're used to second rate multi-plats on their system.
