Im really looking forward to this game, it might not be the next proper MK installment but I really like the idea of a MK crossover game, DC universe seems like a good choice for it aswell. Providing they don't completely get rid of some kid of finishing move and the trademark amounts of gore I feel it will be a good game.
Midway vs Marvel with fatalities would have been a gold mine, D.C. imo only has like 2 dudes that are even worth playing, Batman and Superman, the rest are pretty lame.
Besides if Superdud can take bullets to the eye, What will punches do to him? If Midway believes this to be the game that restores MKs good name after that craptacular Armageddon they are seriously mistaken. MK without fatalities is like The Price Is Right without games.
The game, both in concepts and by the trailer just looks straight out bad. I understand that everything should be given a chance but they took a core element out of MK - that being the gore and fatalities and are slapping a "T" rating or whatever on it. That's pretty much castrating the series. Besides, the graphics so far looks pretty subpar for next-gen.
Now, I'm not entirely crazy of having Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur, but at least the game looks and seems to play top-notch. The same cannot be said for MK vs. DC.
Marvel Vs Capcom succeeds, so why not this ?
probably due to MK, it will fail. because since MK Trilogy there is no single good MK game...
yes, its a pretty desperate attempt to draw attention to their game... kind of like what Soul Calibur 4 is doing with the starwars implamentation. Both games could turn out good, but most likely won't.... gamer_marrik
Only difference though is that SC would do well even without the star wars characters because the game just works. MK vs. DC on the other hand... what?

Dude they took out the staple of what the MK franchise is. The only way this would be like SC4 is if they took away everybodies weapons in SC4.
Not that MK has taken itself really seriously before but this is a step too far and tbh a lot of mk gamers are to grown up for comic heroes. it cheapens it in my opinion and feels way too odd.joystick_johnny
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! "MK gamers are too grown up for comic heroes" That is a truely hilarious statement.

Marvel vs Capcom succeeded because they were both Teen rated games anyway. MK is Mature rated it's always been bloody and full of gore. Now they are going to completely take away what made MK a competitor against street fighter in the first place. Bad move. Street Fighter IV is going back to the roots, nex gen style. Why can't Ed Boon do the same, and get his s#@$ together and make real MK that's back to the roots too?
it's going to be an epic failure.
first off, DC sucks...I'll take venom and wolverine over batman and superman any day of the week.
secondly, mortal kombat hasn't been platinum since mk2, and the 3d games just haven't done anything for me. Fatalities were dumb, cartoony, and just embarassing.
boon and company must have been on some fierce meds when they thought of this garbage.
too bad there won't be a marvel vs. capcom 3...dante and leon kennedy vs. ghostrider and carnage...that stuff writes itself.
I just about hit my head against the wall pretty hard when I saw this game coming out with the MK logo on it. big mistake to even think of this concept for MK.
but... I guess we shall see what the outcome will be for this game. I just hope it gets canned.
Hopefully it will get canned. The world might just end if it has to endure another terrible MK game.
I loved the series, back in the SNES days when it was awesome. Now this whole MK/DC thing is just sad to watch. I've said it before, it needs repeating. This is just like watching two flailing, rotting corpses trying to save each other. They just flop around, unable to do anything. It's entertaining to watch, yes, but completely unnecessary.
I've never been a DC fan, they have all of the cliche super heroes that were relevant 50 years ago. But I used to love MK and I wish it would just die in peace, I'd rather remember it for what it was than what it is becoming.
