Why is everyone so worried about Sony losing money? Why is everyone taking Sony's side on everything? Why wouldn't you want better games. When you pay $650 on a console they should already have good games prepared for it at launch. I'm tired of hearing All Consoles have game droughts at launch. Thats a problem with all game companies. Just because you screw up every console release doesn't make it okay not to make games for a system that costs alot of money. The same thing for the Wii. They need to come out with some games.

I have to agree... I don't see why people would stand up for a company that is so damn... arrogant in their decisions. Just for starters.. $600 to be able to own the next Playstation console is asking A LOT from Playstation fans.. People need to fight back or they will keep doing the same crap in the future.

I think a PS3 for 600$ is cheap for somebody with a decent job. PS2 was the same price at launch... How much is the cheapest bluray player? How much for a good snowboard? Some can't have it all, some have to make choices, I bought a PS3 because I hate winter, so I had nothing better to spend my money.

Yes, it makes it hard for those who need to beg their parents to buy one, to them I say, take a deep breath, keep enjoying your PS2 (It's far from dead), the PS3 isn't quite born yet, wait a year or two, it will be even cheaper.

Well Sony is losing a lot of money. It might mean they might trash it. Highly doubt they will though.

I'm having great fun on my PS3, there's like 15 good to great games, so unless you don't have a life, you should have enough gameplay to last you untill the great new releases.

Its my happiness now. And if Sony doesn't fix any of the issues, such as upconverting, then they will be making money and my happiness for console fades.

But, I'm sure they will. So I'm pretty confident it will stay to be my happniess/enjoyment and not the cash Sony made.

I agree 100% with him, If you think about it isent much money unless you dont have a job, Im 15 and you can work in many places where they pay you 400-500 dollars a month just when you are 14 (well a little less then 400-500 if dont work enough hours) Just save a little amount of that money every month and you should have your ps3 in no time, anyways its has awsome exclusives, great online play IMO (u dont have to pay)

You're not even in the most gamers age group (18-30-something). You don't know what it is to be an adult and pay for EVERYTHING yourself..(bills, food, gas, family needs etc etc etc) I enjoyed being a 15 year old boy where my parents paid for my living so I could easily save up money mowing lawns (which I did) and blow $680 on a videogame. Since most people that will be buying a PS3 are older than you.. you speak for a small minority thats makes up MUCH less of the amount of people who can or will actually buy PS3s. So ya.. the PS3 is expensive to the average gamer, and a smack in the face to past Playstation fans such as myself. Wanna play the next Playstation? $600. Insane.

I think you got a problem that is momentary..if ps3 get price cut your problem are solved..and ps3 definitely will get a price cut..the question is when..you're past playstation fan ..you pay 400 plus something for games when you bought ps2..that 's it..wait until  the price drop get around 400 even if it take years..but if you can't wait who cares?metal gear solid will come out next year..that gonna be the ps3 seller..

i really do disagree with you. im on my own and im still making more money now then i did when i was 15. in fact, this summer im hitting up concerts, building a PC, paying all my rent ahead of time, and still buying a PS3. my parents already have a 60GB model, but i want my own. and if you can manage your money, and have faith in a company that has always delivered high quality merchandise (Sony), then you can EASILY save enough money.

  It's an estimate,  where did you get yours? I paid 659$ CAN, 750$ something with taxes.  And FYI, it's about the same price in the US after conversion.

you ask me to choose between my happiness or sony making money. but you know, it is possible for the two to co-exist.
